Small Business Spotlight

Initial Point Real Estate has proudly served the Kuna community for over 20 years. Founded in 2001 as Stubbs Realty, this local real estate company has deep roots in Kuna. Starting in a small office downtown, the company has changed locations and names but has always remained a fixture in Kuna, focusing on the community from the beginning.

In 2012, as the founder approached retirement, Lloyd Stubbs hired Kuna native and long-time friend Jeff Miller to join the company as the new manager. Jeff eagerly took the opportunity to advance the company in his hometown.

Having started in the real estate business in 2003, Jeff quickly made his mark at brokerages in Boise and Nampa but knew Kuna was where he wanted to be.

At the time, few companies chose to specialize in the Kuna real estate market,

preferring the larger cities of Boise or Meridian. However, for Jeff, it was an easy decision. Kuna had always been his home. It was the perfect fit.

In 2015, Jeff became the owner of the company that we know today as Initial Point Real Estate. And in 2020 IPRE acquired the old post office building on Main Street. The historic downtown building underwent major renovations but, in the end, it was all worth it. To Jeff and his team, Kuna is more than just a workplace, it’s home. IPRE prides themselves on their small-town service and specializes in all aspects of Kuna real estate. From residential, commercial, vacant land, investment, farm and ranch, as well as leasing, the professionals at IPRE have the knowledge and experience to handle just about any transaction.

Fun Real Estate Fact: Many know Initial Point, the butte south of Kuna in the desert. But did you know that Initial Point is the starting point for mapping the entire state of Idaho? Every survey in the state starts in Kuna.

Walk ins are always welcome at 398 W. Main St in Kuna. Call the office at 208-922-9819. Or visit www.IdahoBuySell.com

St. Patrick’s Day - Fact or Blarney?

The Real St. Patrick Was Born in Britain: Much of what is known about St. Patrick's life has been interwoven with folklore and legend. Historians generally believe that St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, was born in Britain near the end of the 4th century. Kidnapped at 16 by Irish raiders and sold as a slave to a Celtic priest in Northern Ireland. After toiling for six years as a shepherd, he escaped back to Britain. He eventually returned to Ireland as a Christian missionary.

The First St. Patrick’s Day Parade Was Held in America: While people in Ireland had celebrated St. Patrick since the 1600s, the tradition of a St. Patrick’s Day parade began in America. Records show a St. Patrick’s Day parade was held on March 17, 1601 in a Spanish colony in what is now St. Augustine, Florida.

Farmers Alley Market’s first season starts this year, on select Saturdays, from June to October. To get more information and to check out those dates visit the website at www.farmersalleymarketkuna.com

They landed on “Farmers Alley Market” because one, they wanted it to be obvious what kind of market this is, two, the market will be held under the water tower next to 2nd Aly Street, and three. (noticed after the fact) if you take the first letters from each word, it’s FAM. It felt destined.
