Message from the Headteacher Dear Parents / Carers, It has been a really positive week here in school. The students have been fantastic and really continuing to engage and enjoying being in school. We have all enjoyed our first ‘whole school’ remote assembly, a very personal remembrance tribute led by Ms Preston, Mrs Cain and Mr Cocker. I had the privilege of touring the school during the assembly and it was fabulous to hear the assembly being shown in every classroom and to observe the whole school respect the 2-minute silence. Given there are 1500+ people on the school site, you could have heard a pin drop. It was very moving and a wonderful community experience.

I am also happy to announce that our excellent Student Voice team met for the first time this week. The session was led virtually, and include at least two representatives from each year group. The team discussed fundraising for the year, organising mental health support across the school and reviewing our plastic policy. We really look forward to them being involved in decision making across the school over the coming year. More information on the Student Voice Team is included later on in this bulletin.

We are delighted to be able to tell you that the complete refurbishment of the entire Science block is now complete. It looks amazing and I cannot wait to be able to invite you back into school so that you can see the new science facilities. This work began before the summer holiday and has included completely new layouts, desks, chairs, equipment, windows, floors and ceilings. We have now created a very modern, state of the art learning space, which will further facilitate outstanding science teaching for the future. We now have a dedicated sixth form laboratory for A Level, which will support their practical endorsement. We have included some photos further on in this bulletin of our new science rooms.
