RVHS Bulletin Weekending Friday 11th February 2022 Dear Parents/Carers, 560pts

Thank you for your support this week as it has facilitated a very positive, safe and purposeful week here in school. Staff absence remains high, but I hope that the half-term break will act as a natural circuit breaker. Uniform is a very important part of our identity and standards, the majority of our students wear the immaculate uniform. Please can I remind you of our expectations and please use half term to replace any uniform, especially shoes, skirts (required to be worn at knee length) or school equipment. Can I reiterate that trainers can only be worn with a full PE kit on PE days. If you are experiencing any financial hardship, then please do not hesitate to contact your child’s Year Progress Leader. We also offer a selection of pre-loved uniform here at the school. You may have seen in the media that GCSE/ A’ Level examinations will be going ahead this summer and that there have been some adaptations made to the curriculums. We have today, written to all the parents in years 11 and 13, with additional information so please check your emails. The main changes are: • Coursework flexibility in some subjects • Generous grading to provide a safety net • Optional Content in some GCSEs • Support Materials - formulae sheets in some exams so students won't have to memorise so much • Advance information on the focus of some exams We will continue to prepare all students for these examinations and to ensure that they are best prepared, achieve their potential, which enables them to take their next steps. A reminder that all revision materials are available on our website. This week we launched our Year 9 Options microsite - please click here to access it. Please do take some time over half term to discuss with your child. The site contains lots of information on the subjects and GCSE pathways available. There is also information on who to contact if you still have queries. Alongside the options microsite, please remember that we have an excellent GCSE & A-Level microsite that serves as an excellent tool for your child’s revision over the half term break. All students know that they can access this via our school website, please click here to see the relevant Revision Resources page.
