Welcome back one and all to the final half term of the academic year. Although we are now in Summer mode the weather hasn't really made it feel particularly warm for the first two days. At least it means that our Year 11s haven't been suffering sweltering conditions while taking their exams. I seem to remember that every exam period coincided with a heatwave but thankfully that hasn't quite been the case this time round. It was great to see so many Year 11s in during the half term holiday as the final Revision School took place from Tuesday to Friday. Once again I would like to say how impressed I've been with the attitudes of the students who have taken every opportunity to prepare themselves for their GCSEs. It has also been a fantastic effort from the staff who have given up their time willingly and have gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that the students have been fully supported throughout this challenging period of their lives. I would also like to mention that the Year 10s will also be sitting their end of year examinations next week and they have been busy revising and practising answering questions over the half term. It has been made very clear to all the students that they should take these exams seriously and approach them in the same way that they will prepare for next year's GCSEs. It is crucial that all students develop effective Revision Skills so that they give themselves the best chance of success. This is something that they will need to work hard at over the course of the next 12 months and of course they will be given a huge amount of support from staff to build their confidence in this respect. It will be a busy end to the school year and there is still lots to pack in to the rest of the term.
