Five practical tips in school experience

Five practical tips in school experience My practice was developed in a primary school, that’s why there is a lot of methodologies that can be applied in each class. This school has very good teachers and my guide teacher was a clear example of that. She did not have problems in any of her classes. Even if there was a problem, she managed cleverly. I learnt the following things of her methods of teaching, and also others from my classmates that I would like to highlight. Some of the most important things in teaching are related to the movement of the teacher. The first thing that I learned and also applied was the Classroom Tour (I gave it the name  ). When a teacher is talking, explaining or just giving instructions, he or she must move through the whole classroom. This helps to the teacher to: Assess the students during the class. To change the focus of the students (so they won’t lost the focus). Classroom Tour also helps the teacher to make the students ask for questions if they have problems with something, because not all the students has the same confidence. They need to have the teacher closer in order to speak or ask for help. While I walk through the classroom, I noticed that my voice was less overused, so it is a healthy tip as well. I also learnt that primary school students want to be the main students, and the teacher mustn’t notice no one else but them. They want to participate in almost everything. This aspect is a very important issue if we notice. As they want to be the most important thing in the classroom, we have to use those little sources. The best example is when you are explaining a content and you ask “Do you have any questions?” They will say immediately “no”. Ok, knowing this if we change the question to other more specific, the things will change. For example, you may ask “Who wants to explain this?” I am one hundred percent sure that at least 3 or 4 students will raise their hands. Then you ask them to explain using their own words. If they have problems, you must explain again because it is obvious that they raised their hands just because they want the attention but they would no manage the contents. I made a mistake while I prepared one of the test for 7th grade. Some of the instructions were not clear so they had problems with certain items. This is a tip that should help everybody. If you are preparing a test, read it at least 10 times, but you will always find details. That’s why whenever I prepare a test, I will have a secondary explanation for every item. When I made mi make up class with 1st grade, I did not have enough confidence because I had never had the opportunity to teach little kids. What I learnt whit them is never lose your young spirit. They were very happy doing mimes and watching videos. That is why I learnt from them that since you are a teacher, you must teach them in their level and forget about others levels. If you are teaching a 1st grade, behave like a kid. If you are teaching adults, behave like an adult. Everything needs to have a fluency.

I can conclude that, whatever people think, every single person in the world will never stop theirs learning.
