Where to Invest Money @ Home In our time, we’ve seen many home owners get excited about renovations and often go overboard, over improving the house, or spending it in areas where the return is low.

Knowing where to spend money and how to spend it to ensure the best return, especially when doing it with the sole intention of selling, is key.

Four areas to consider focusing on are the kitchen, bathrooms, painting and plumbing/electrical fixtures.

One key consideration is that when renovating or purchasing new things for your home that you keep within the same general quality/style of your home and surrounding neighbourhood. Going overboard and putting in a $100,000 kitchen in a neighbourhood where $50,000 is more common is not likely to get you

that money back in the selling price.

Rather, keeping within the general style and expectations of buyers considering to move to your area is best.
