Fees for Day students

KTJ provides high-quality Day education for students in Primary Early Years to Secondary Form 5. The Day fees are inclusive of tuition and learning resources, most co-curricular activities, a morning snack for Primary, lunch for both Primary and Secondary students and residential trips for Years 3 to 6 and Forms 1 to 4.

Fees for Boarding students

Boarding is a key feature of KTJ, and is undoubtedly one of the most rewarding aspects of school life. KTJ provides Boarding for Form 1 to Form 5 Secondary students, and is compulsory for Sixth Form students. The Boarding fees are inclusive of tuition and learning resources, food and board (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and an evening meal), laundry (with some restrictions), most co-curricular activities and residential trips for Forms 1 to 4.

*The registration and admittance fee are non-refundable.

Fee information

Additional charges

•After School Club: Available in Primary from 3.45-5.00pm and includes activities, homework support and snack. The cost is RM54 per day, RM162 for the week or RM1,512 for the term.

•Airport transfer: RM130 for students aged 16 and under, RM76 for students aged 17 and above (one way).

•Bus service: Our bus fees start from RM700 per term, depending on your location. Please visit our website for more information.

•Co-curricular activities: Specialists CCAs which require an external facilitator or transport incur an additional cost. Parents will be contacted for authorisation prior to sign-up.

•Daily boarding and mid term boarding: RM175 per day

•EAL and learning support: Please see the fees table overleaf.

•Examination fees: IGCSE, AS and A Level examination entry fees are recharged to parents. Enquiries about results (EAR) incur an additional fee.

•Insurance: Parents are expected to arrange medical insurance for their child/ren.

•Laundry: There is no additional charge for laundry. But items that require dry cleaning or special care incur an additional charge. For more information, please view our Parent Handbook on our website.

•Private music tuition: RM81 for 30 minutes.

•Student cards: Replacement student cards cost RM11.

Deposit

•The deposit is refunded with one term’s notice of withdrawal from KTJ. Failure to provide a full term’s notice will result in the refundable deposit being forfeited.

•Notice of withdrawal must be sent by email to principal@ktj.edu.my.

•The Primary deposit is equivalent to one term’s tuition fees per year group and capped at RM13,000 for year 3 to year 6 students.

Discounts

•If the fees are paid on an annual basis at the start of the academic year (August), a 5% discount is provided.

•A 5% sibling discount is provided, and is capped at 15%.

•Guardian visa: A new application costs RM1,080 and a visa renewal costs RM864. Visa fees as charged by immigration are recharged to the parent. The personal bond fee is subject to the immigration schedule and refunded when the guardian visa is terminated. Fees

• Fees normally rise annually. Fee rises are typically announced in March or April for the following August.

• Fees are payable on a termly basis at the start of each term, or on an annual basis at the start of the academic year (August).

2024-2025 Academic Year Scholarships

KTJ offers a generous and competitive scholarship scheme which is open to both Malaysian and international students. Candidates can be new or existing students at KTJ, and scholarships are provided at the discretion of the Principal.

Sixth Form Academic Scholarship

• KTJ’s Sixth Form Academic Scholarship recognises students with outstanding academic ability and/or potential. Awards typically range from 10-75% reduction on tuition fees only

• Scholars are expected to maintain high academic standards throughout their time at KTJ and to participate fully in the academic enrichment programme.

• To be considered, students must have forecast/actual grades at IGCSE, SPM or equivalent of A or above in all subjects, and excellent reports/references from current school.

• Shortlisted candidates will firstly be invited to attend an in-person group workshop at KTJ. The second phase of the application process will involve a virtual interview with a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

• For the August enrollment, we accept applications between 2nd November and 1st March. Outcomes are usually announced in late May.

Golf and Squash Scholarships

• We offer scholarships to students with outstanding potential in golf or squash. Awards typically range from 10-75% reduction in tuition fees only.

• These scholarships are typically only offered in the Secondary School. But, the School will consider awarding scholarships to students with an outstanding record in one of these sports who have applied for entry to the Primary School.

• Scholars are expected to contribute widely to the sports programme at KTJ and to demonstrate leadership in school sports.

• To be considered, students must have satisfactory reports/references from current school and success at a national level in the sport.

• Applications for Golf and Squash Scholarships are open throughout the year.

Music Scholarships

• We offer scholarships to students in Forms 3, 4 and 6 who demonstrate outstanding potential and/or ability in music. Awards typically range from 10-75% reduction in tuition fees only.

• Scholars are expected to contribute widely to the music life at KTJ and take a lead in the promotion of music.

• To be considered, students must have satisfactory reports/references from current school and Grade 5 standard or higher in one instrument. Singing is considered an instrument.

• We accept applications between 1st January and 1st April, and outcomes are usually announced in late May.

• Complete the online application form and pay the registration fee. After submitting the application form, please login to your new OpenApply parent account to check the status of your application and upload the required checklist documents.

• The scholarship application documents are available in the checklist documents section.

• If required, an appointment for assessment will be arranged.

• A decision on your child’s application will be made within 10 working days, upon submission of completed documents.
