Get your flu shot at the annual Drive Through Flu Clinic!
Annual Drive Through Flu Clinic In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is more important than ever to get your annual flu shot. The City is pleased to announce that the 2020 Drive Through Flu Clinic has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, 2020, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at the NEMO Fairgrounds. The Drive Through Flu Clinic is a quick and easy way to get your flu shot for the 2020-2021 influenza season to protect yourself, your loved ones, and help ensure our local healthcare system is not overwhelmed during this pandemic. The Drive Through Flu Clinic is for people ages three years and older. The clinic— sponsored by the Adair County Health Department—is provided at no cost to Adair County residents. However, please bring your Medicare and Medicaid cards, if applicable. Short or loose-fitting sleeves are recommended, and don’t forget to wear your mask! City crews will begin picking up tree limbs and large brush on Monday, October 5, 2020. Although the work is expected to take the entire week, to guarantee pick-up, your brush must be placed curbside by 7:00 am, Monday, October 5, 2020. Get your yard ready for winter! Serve Up Fire Safety in the Kitchen! Cooking is the number one cause of home fires and home fire injuries, and unattended cooking is the leading cause of fires in the kitchen. Before you serve a meal, it’s essential to serve up fire safety in the kitchen, but do you know the important steps to take long before anyone takes their first bite? Fire Prevention Week is October 4 to 10, 2020, and this year’s Fire Prevention Week theme, “Serve Up Fire Safety in the Kitchen!” works to educate everyone about the simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves, and those around them, safe in the kitchen.
