Stay Informed! Do you know an individual or organization who volunteers for the City of Kirksville?

Recognize a Volunteer! We need your help identifying an individual or organization to be considered for the Small Town Civic Volunteer Award through CivicPlus, the nation’s leading technology platform for local government! The City has been given the opportunity to submit a nomination for this award, but first, we want to hear from you! Volunteerism is vital to the success of the City of Kirksville, and according to CivicPlus, small town communities across the country are seeing a decline in volunteers to serve as board/committee members, coaches, elected officials, firefighters, and more. As a community, we benefit every day from the many people who volunteer their time. Please take a moment to nominate an individual or organization you believe is worthy of recognition for their volunteer efforts for the City of Kirksville. All nominees will be reviewed by the City Council, and one individual or organization selected for submission. All nominees will receive a Certificate of Recognition from the City Council! To nominate, complete the form found here: www.kirksvillecity.com/nominate For more information, contact Administration at 660.627.1225.

Give Your Recyclables New Life Your recycling isn’t just another form of trash. When you recycle, your recyclables are given new life and included in more products than you probably realize: from tennis shoes and soda cans, to bicycles and water bottles. More and more post-consumer recycled material is being incorporated into the products and packaging you buy every day. Here in Kirksville, RTS Waste Services picks up recyclables curbside in a designated recycling can every two weeks, along with your trash. For glass recycling, you must first purchase a tote from the Finance Counter at City Hall for $3.99. Then, fill it with glass and place the tote curbside the first Monday of each month.
