Offices Closed for Holidays Thanksgiving Safety Tips! Our Fire Department would like to remind you to stay safe this year while you prepare your Thanksgiving feast!
Stay in the home when cooking your turkey, and check on it frequently.
Keep children away from the stove; your stove will be hot!
Keep the floor clear of hazards so you don’t trip over kids, toys, bags, etc.
Keep knives, matches, and utility lighters out of the reach of children.
Be sure electric cords are not dangling off the counter within reach of a child.
Make sure to test your smoke alarms to ensure they are working.
In observance of Veterans Day, all City Offices will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. All City offices will reopen Thursday, November 12, 2020, for regular business hours. In observance of Thanksgiving, all City Offices will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27, 2020. All City offices will reopen Monday, November 30, 2020, for regular business hours. We wish everyone a Happy, and safe, Thanksgiving!

Winterizing Your Water Meter

Now is the time to winterize your water meter! If your water meter is prone to freezing, you should take the following precautions to prevent the meter from freezing and breaking:

Make sure you have a tight-fitting lid on your meter pit.

Fill the meter pit with fiberglass insulation, especially if your lid doesn’t fit well.
Place a blanket or straw bale on top of the lid for insulation.
