Trash Trucks & City Streets In addition to the asphalt street rehabilitation outlined above, City crews will also complete a minimum of twenty deep patch repairs this year to sections of City streets damaged by larger trash trucks. Damage caused to City streets by these trucks is an issue currently being addressed by City staff, the new Citizens Solid Waste Service Committee, and the City Council. The City’s goal is to reduce trash truck weights and explore additional solutions, such as a local transfer station. The City’s five year Contract for Solid Waste and Recyclable Material Collection is up for bid this year, so now is the time to address this issue. For more information regarding deep patch repair, contact the Public Works Department at 660.627.1291. For more information regarding solid waste collection, contact the Codes Department at 660.627.1272.
