Winter is here, and we want to take this opportunity to remind you to clean the sidewalks along and in front of your home or business! City ordinance requires either the tenant or owner of a property to remove snow and ice from the sidewalk within 24 hours of the end of a snow event. If you are a tenant, you should have an understanding with your landlord as to who is responsible for snow and ice removal. More and more people are using the sidewalks for exercise, recreation, and going to and from work or school. Please be considerate of your fellow citizens and ensure your sidewalks are clear! Preparation is key: be sure to have a good snow shovel and some ice melt handy. We thank you for your cooperation, and we’re sure your neighbors will thank you as well! For more information, contact Codes & Planning at 660.627.1272.
