U-14 BOYS DIV. 2 Gneeveguilla 43-39 Caherciveen.(Played 29/01/2017) This was a great game of basketball with Gneeveguilla having home advantage. It took both teams a while to settle in attack .At the end of the 1st quarter it was 6-7 in favour of Caherciveen and at the end of 2nd quarter the score was 1911 in favour of the visitors. However in the third quarter the tide changed for the home side as they were ahead by 2 points on a scoreline of 28-26. Things got hot again in the final quarter as the teams were even on a scoreline of 37 a piece with 3 minutes to go and both defences giving away nothing. However the home side edged ahead on a final score of 43-39. Paraic Finnegan, Paudie O’ Leary, Ciaran Cremin and Mark O’Leary got vital scores for Gneeveguilla when it was needed. Ronan Teahan and Cathal O’Shea were very accurate for Caherciveen. We look forward to our next outing. U12 GIRLS DIV 3 Gneeveguilla 16-36 Tralee Imperials.
