Florida Atlantic University Health Administration students recently assisted the Florida Health Care Coalition officials at their annual South Florida Conference held August 13th at the Signature Grand Hotel in Davie. Students volunteered their time at the Conference: Empowering Healthcare, a Look at Key Components. The featured speaker was Melanie Bloom, widow of NBC correspondent David Bloom who died in 2003 from DVT while on assignment in Iraq. Volunteering at sanctioned healthcare events is a great way to maximize your presence and receive a variety of unique opportunities and exposure to health professionals. At this event, select industry audience members included over 300 attendees representing Employers, Physicians, Insurers, Hospitals, Business Coalitions, Government, Pharmaceutical Companies, HR/Benefit Professionals, Consultants and anyone interested in healthcare.

The Florida Health Care Coalition has an upcoming event South Florida Senior Health Expo in October. Date: Tuesday, October 7, 2008 Place: War Memorial Auditorium Address: 800 NE 8th Street, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 33304 Arrival time: No later than 8:15am End time: 1:00pm Lunch vouchers will be provided to the volunteers
