Meet your 9W Lt. Governor Hey Division 9W! My name is Kailee

Shockey and I will be serving as your 2017-2018 Lieutenant Governor. I am currently a junior at Rudder High School. I have been involved in Key Club since the beginning of my sophomore year, and served as Rudder Key Club’s 2016-2017 secretary. In addition to Key Club, I am involved in HOSA, Student Council, NHS, and Ranger Theatre. I am so excited to work with you all throughout the next year. My hope is that we can grow our Key Club membership in Division 9W, and possibly charter new clubs within our division. I look forward to serving with you all and I know we will accomplish great things together. Yours in Service, Kailee Shockey

DCON 2017

Division 9W had a blast at DCON this April! We had opportunities to attend forums, socials, meet new people, take part in contests, explore Downtown Dallas, and attend group sessions and the awards ceremony. Our new club officers were able to attend forums to receive training on their new positions. Key Clubbers from around Texas and Oklahoma had the opportunity to explore the Wizarding World of Service and build connections that can last a lifetime. DCON is an amazing opportunity that shapes Key Clubbers into servant leaders. Below some Key Clubbers from our division shared their favorite part of DCON.

“My favorite part of DCON was getting to know other Key Clubbers.” - Alexus F. “I liked watching the quiz bowl.” - Taryn M. “The forums were informative.” - Keaton H. “I enjoyed the Awards Banquet.” - Stephanie V.

ICON is Key Club’s annual International Convention where Key Clubbers from all around the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean gather to celebrate the year’s accomplishments, train for leadership positions, learn about what Key Club has to offer, and connect with Key Clubbers from around the world. Why attend ICON? It is the biggest Key Club event of the year. 1,600 Key Clubbers will be gathering in San Antonio for ICON. Find more info and registration forms at keyclub.org 4

Thank you Lexi! As your term comes to a close and you approach graduation, I would like to thank you, Lexi Durbin, on behalf of Division 9W for her service as Lieutenant Governor these past two years. You have accomplished great things for our division, region, and district. Thank you for all the support you have offered me as I decided to run for Lieutenant Governor and for all the advice you have offered our new Division 9W club officers. I wish you the best of luck as you continue your education at Texas A&M University, and good luck with all your future endeavours. Thank you for your service! Love, Division 9W 5

Congrats Division 9W

Congratulations Division 9W on all the great work your clubs have accomplished throughout this past Key Club year! I would like to thank both Rudder and Bryan High Key Club for the work you have done in your schools and communities. I appreciate the contributions you have made to our organization. I would like to congratulate Bryan High School Key Club for placing among the top 25 key clubs in the Texas-Oklahoma District. As the new club officers begin their terms, I wish them the best of luck in guiding their clubs through the next year, and I hope to assist your clubs in any way I can.

The Duck Race Bryan High School Key Club is launching their year by participating in a Duck Race fundraiser to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. BHS Key Club officers were inspired to take part in this fundraiser after attending a forum at DCON where the speaker presented them with a fundraiser that would raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network and their own club. On May 25th K-Family, along with the hospital, will be hosting an annual duck race in Pelican Bay - Edmond. Bryan High Key Club was challenged to sell 40 tickets, with each ticket representing one rubber duck, at $5 a piece. Each ticket purchases a rubber duck that will race down a slide, and the first duck to the finish line wins $1000.
