North Grenville Mayor David Gordon has decided to publicly respond to questions raised in a letter to the editor printed in this newspaper last month. A letter submitted to the Kemptville Advance from former Kemptville Mayor Ralph Raina was printed in the Nov. 30 issue. The letter posed three questions to the current mayor pertaining to the municipality’s purchase of the former Kemptville College campus. Gordon took the opportunity at the Dec. 4 council meeting to respond to Raina’s questions. As a response to the first question, which asked what the municipality’s business plan is for the Kemptville College, the mayor recounted the Expression of Interest that the municipality had released in October 2014, which describes the intentions of the municipality to renew the Kemptville Campus, and speaks specifically to the vision of the new campus’ operations, maintenance, governance, due diligence and the municipality’s capacity to deliver. The second question Raina posed involved where the municipality will source the funding for the purchase of the Kemptville Campus.
