Founded in 1889 in the Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Robert Moncuit is a benchmark Côte des Blancs grower. Since 1928, the family has bottled under its own name, with current winemaker Pierre Amillet (4th generation) at the helm since 2000.
The estate farms 8 hectares in Le Mesnil and Oger, following a natural, low-intervention philosophy no herbicides or chemical treatments. Grapes are harvested at full phenolic ripeness, avoiding chaptalization. Vinification is parcel-specific, with all wines fermented and aged in oak barrels, and malolactic fermentation occurring naturally, depending on the vintage. Wines are bottled unfiltered and aged extensively on lees.
A standout is the single-vineyard cuvée from Les Chétillons, which showcases the estate ’ s commitment to terroir. Robert Moncuit’ s Champagnes express the precision, minerality, and elegance of Le Mesnil, offering complex, citrus-driven wines with refined saline tension comparable in finesse to top cuvée like Krug Clos du Mesnil, but far more accessible in price and drinking window.
Les Grands Blancs NV
The bubbles are fine and delicate, releasing aromas of grapefruit, lemon, and other citrus fruits. Distinct notes of honey and minerality are present. On the palate, it offers a refreshing fruitiness, a lively and bright acidity, and a lingering finish with hints of fresh almonds and a subtle chalky salinity. The overall structure is well-balanced, showcasing the terroir of the Côte des Blancs, resulting in a crisp, delicious, and beautifully refreshing taste.
Le Vozémieux 2011
This wine embodies Pierre ’ s terroir-driven philosophy. Le Vozémieux is the finest vineyard in the Grand Cru village of Oger, with its first vintage produced in 2010. Pierre deliberately chose to halt malolactic fermentation and extended the lees aging in the bottle. This approach enhances the wine ’ s finesse while preserving a clearer expression of terroir. The result is a beautifully layered profile featuring white peach, honey, yellow lemon, hazelnut, and distinctive chalky minerality.
Les Chétillons 2016
Les Chétillons is often referred to as the "Mesnil within Mesnil," this vineyard is celebrated for its exceptional and distinctive terroir. In recent years, Pierre has opted for natural malolactic fermentation and extended lees aging after secondary fermentation in the bottle. This approach enhances the wine’s roundness and remains the finesse while preserving a pure chalky texture.
Les Chétillons 2013
Les Chétillons is often referred to as the "Mesnil within Mesnil," this vineyard is celebrated for its exceptional and distinctive terroir. Pierre deliberately chose to halt malolactic fermentation. This approach reserves the bright acidity of the wine and enhances the expression of terroir. The wine features notes of lemon oil, almonds, citrus, and most distinctively a fine, powdery chalkiness!
Le Mesnil Sur Oger 2018
A classic example of chalk terroir expression, allowing one to truly experience the essence of chalk soil. It showcases a distinctive minerality with a salty and powdery texture, complemented by the ripe citrus aromas of Chardonnay, along with notes of smoke, nuts, and white peach. With the purity reminiscent of a fine Burgundy white wine and a pronounced chalky minerality, it brilliantly and elegantly highlights the exceptional terroir of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger!

▓ Ludes, Montagne de Reims
Founded in 1847, Bérêche & Fils began as grape growers in Ludes, later expanding to 9 hectares across 20+ parcels in the Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne. The shift toward estate bottling began in the 1970s, but the estate’s modern transformation started in 2004 with the arrival of Raphaël and Vincent Bérêche (5th generation).
They immediately adopted organic and biodynamic practices, eliminated herbicides, returned to manual vineyard work, and employed a full-time team. Vineyard sites span varied terroirs from chalk in Ludes to clay-loam and limestone in Ormes providing a broad aromatic palette. In the cellar, all wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts, mostly in 350L used oak barrels, with no malolactic fermentation to preserve terroir clarity. Secondary fermentation is done under cork (tirage à liège) for better micro-oxygenation and finer bubbles. Wines are handdisgorged à la volée and receive minimal dosage.
Though historically a récoltant-manipulant, since 2013 Bérêche has sourced additional grapes from trusted growers to expand Brut Réserve production. Today, the domaine is a reference point for precise, expressive, terroir-driven Champagne.
Réserve NV
The grapes are carefully selected from Ludes, Trépail, Ormes, and Mareuil-le-Port, with vines averaging over 40 years old. The addition of 35% oak-aged reserve wine enhances the complexity, offering aromas of apple and nectarine, along with notes of butter and toasted bread. Not only is this Champagne a featured selection at Michelin 3-star restaurants, but it has also been recognized by La Revue du Vin de France as the benchmark for all non-vintage Brut Champagnes!
Ludes 1er Cru Le Cran 2015
This exceptional Champagne is crafted from 1er Cru Ludes, in the northern Montagne de Reims. The Chardonnay from the plot “ Les Hautes Plantes” contributes its chalky minerality and precision, while the Pinot Noir from”La Vigne St-Jean”adds structure and depth. Aging for 78 months on lees results in a burst of tropical fruit aromas, layered with notes of chamomile and spice, offering vibrant acidity and remarkable complexity.
Raphaël et Vincent Bérêche
Montagne 1er Cru Extra Brut 1999
The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blend showcases the true character of this terroir. After an unprecedented 209 months of bottle aging, the wine reveals complex layers of red fruit and citrus aromas, intertwined with the saline and structured minerality of chalk soils. Notes of toasted bread and butter biscuits add further depth, resulting in an incredibly multi-dimensional and refined expression of Champagne.
Reflet D'Antan NV
The Perpetual wine adds remarkable depth and complexity. The Champagne undergoes bottle aging for over 36 months under cork, enhancing its richness and finesse. The name "Reflet d'Antan", meaning "Reflection of the Past", perfectly represents the winery’s legacy making it the definitive signature cuvée of Bérêche & Fils.
Les Montées Rouge 2018
The vines are planted on sandy and limestone soils. The grapes are partially destemmed and macerated for 8 to 10 days. The 2018 vintage unwinded with aromas of red and black fruits, with earthy notes and subtle touches of tobacco. The palate is elegant, floral and warm. A wine with fine tannins, persistent acidity and a fresh and long finish.
