한국문화예술교육진흥원은 2005년부터 총 36차에 걸쳐 해외문

화예술교육 전문가들을 국내에 초청하여 문화예술교육의 다양

적 워크숍, 예상치 못한 장소에서의 학교와 예술가들, 예술단체와 의 공연 행사 등 런던 해크니 지역을 중심으로 다각적인 활동을 펼치고 있다.

사람들, 예기치 않게 진행되는 대화들, 어쩌다 마주친 기회들, 선 택의 기로에서 다른 길로 걸어갈 때마다 맞닥뜨리게 되는 경험들

1. 작은 씨앗, 큰 아이디어

에서 우리 인생의 모든 일들이 생겨난다고 믿는 사람이다. 또 나

3. 공동 작업 우리의 목표는 워크숍이든 회사를 운영하는 방식이든 조직의 모 든 단계에서 공동 작업을 수행하는 것이다. 포괄적이고 개방적 인 환경은 전문 리더/음악인에 의해 설정된다. 대화를 통해 공동 작업이 지속되고 워크숍 이후로도 확장된다. 이때 뜻을 같이 하 는 전문 아티스트 그리고 공연장과 맺은 파트너 관계를 상호 유 익하고 예술적인 자극을 일으키는 방향으로 이끌어 가는 것이 중 요하다.

4. 탁월, 탐구, 유희

이색적이면서 영감을 주는 장소에서 경험 만들기

위의 세 가지 특성은 워크숍의 주요 목표이다. 우리는 에너지가

SoundsCreative의 3가지 프로젝트 2009년 이후 개별적으로 개설한 프로젝트를 시작으로 그 규모 를 넓혀 온 SoundsCreative의 개념은 지난 2년간 전반적인 성장 을 이루었으며 현재 그림과 같이 3개 프로젝트 갈래로 구성되어

아티스트 사이에 협력 관계가 더 긴밀한 프로젝트 - 공연/설치/전 시/상호 작용

현재 진행 중인 다섯 가지 이웃 주민 프로젝트 (The neighborhood projects) – 정기 워크숍

복스 보이스(Vox Voices)는 편안하고 다정하며 재미난 경험을 선사한다. 가슴을 펴고 노래하며 발을 구르고 서로 아이디어를 나 눌 수 있는 공간에서 원하는 사람은 누구든지 함께 할 수 있도록 개방되어 있는 보컬 그룹이다.

티 플러스 어 기그(Tea + a gig)는 매월 세계 민속 음악에서부터 특별한 곡조나 노랫말이 없는 곡에 이르기까지 다양한 음악을 적 절히 혼합한 프로그램으로 펼쳐지는 연주회이다. 이러한 기회를 통해 부모들은 특별한 음악적 재능을 가진 자녀들과 함께 멋진 연 주회를 즐길 수 있다.

토트 튠(Tots Tunes)은 0세부터 5세까지의 어린 자녀와 부모를 위한 프로젝트이다. 에너지가 넘치는 상호 작용 방식의 이 세션에 서는 전 세계의 합창곡과 새로운 곡을 배우고 이 둘을 조합하려는 시도도 해본다.

퀘스트 앙상블(Quest Ensemble)

퀘스트 앙상블은 매혹적인 세 연주자들의 소통의 결과로, 고전 적인 피아노 3중주 형태에 독특한 해석을 가미하여 창안된 작곡 과 즉흥 연주를 매끄럽게 혼합한 독창적인 공동 작업 형태를 띠

발라디스트 이중주단이 윌튼 뮤직홀, 보텍스 재즈 클럽, 사우스뱅 크, 유니온 채플 등의 공연장에서 퀘스트 앙상블 공연의 일부로 이중주 레퍼토리를 연주했을 때 연주에 매료된 청중들은 큰 찬사 를 보냈다.

“도시의 발소리”는 도시와 닮은 꼴로, 결과를 예측할 수 없는 이벤 트와 다양한 배경 음향 효과를 사용하여 대화에서 반복되는 패턴 을 불러낸다. 3명의 연주자와 3대의 악기만으로 보완 요소의 반 복 및 겹쳐 놓기, 강약의 세기를 달리하여 밀고 당기기, 전체적인 질감 등을 사용하여 깊이를 창출해낸다. 그런 다음 격렬한 베이스 라인과 도시의 연속되는 움직임을 강조하는 그루브를 표현한 후 곡의 나머지 부분을 자연스럽게 연주한다. 이러한 리듬감은 도시 생활의 환희와 흥분, 피로를 형상화한 것이다. “도시의 발소리” 창작 과정을 통해 알 수 있듯이, 퀘스트 앙상블의 창작 과정과 연주를 통해 함께 경험하는 상호 작용과 놀이는 우리 를 계속 상상할 수 있도록 견인하고 우리를 주변의 살아 숨쉬는 세계와 연결시킨다.

Music-making and urban life have more parallels than we may realize, with their demands of tempo and precision to balance chaos and order, whilst also retaining an essence of improvisation and play. Even when working within a structure, we still have great freedom to respond the moment and to each other.

Resembling the city, “City Footfall” brings out repetitive patterns in dialogue with non-linear events and more varied background sound effects. With only the three players and three instruments, we build density through the use of repetition and the layering of complementary elements, an ebb and flow of differing dynamics and a full texture. The piece then opens up into a relentless bass line and groove that highlights the continuous motion of the city and drives the rest of the piece forward. This rhythmic pace encapsulates the joy, excitement and exhaustion of living in a city.

As seen through the creation of “City Footfall,” the interaction and play that we in Quest have with each other in both the creative process and performance keeps our imagination and the connection to the world around us alive.
