ESG-statement 2024

We work purposefully with ESG to create value for customers, employees, and society
- Poul Willadsen, CEO
Preface
This report marks an important milestone for IBG A/S – our first ESG statement, covering the financial year from January 1 to December 31, 2024. Through this report, we aim to provide transparent insights into how we address environmental, social, and governance topics in our business.
This report was developed internally, as we believe the greatest value is created when ESG initiatives are rooted in our daily operations and aligned with the needs and expectations of our customers, partners, and employees.
Our goal is to provide a reliable and relevant ESG report – one that creates value for our customers, partners, and the community around us, and that can continue to grow and adapt in line with evolving expectations and requirements.

We focus on developing solutions that enable responsible growth and help future-proof construction projects and buildings – not as a separate track, but as a core part of our business. At the same time, we are committed to strengthening our own internal development and sustainability practices through concrete initiatives and measurable results.

Poul Willadsen CEO Torben Jensen Owner, Production Director
About IBG A/S
IBG A/S was founded in West Jutland in 1974 by Ib G. Jensen, an earthworks contractor specializing in ground, construction, and sewer projects. Over the past two decades, under the ownership of second-generation Torben Jensen, the company has evolved into a modern contracting business with projects across Denmark.
Building on our entrepreneurial roots, we handle a wide range of tasks – from earthworks, sewer projects, and site preparation to concrete work and large-scale civil engineering. Over the years, IBG has also built a strong position in the energy sector. We construct transformer stations, develop battery projects, and contribute to solar and wind energy – including casting wind turbine foundations and carrying out related civil works.
This solid foundation has allowed us to grow into an experienced turnkey contractor delivering complete solutions – from large industrial and warehouse buildings to residential projects, schools, and more. Our head office is located in Rom near Lemvig, with additional offices in Holstebro and Nyrup on Sjælland.
In 2024, we strengthened collaboration across our departments to ensure an even more integrated approach to our projects. With the establishment of our own design office, we have brought all key competencies together under one roof. This allows us to offer customers a comprehensive service, where idea development, design, and execution work seamlessly together – from the first sketch to the finished result.
In the field of civil engineering, we have for several years delivered services to DGNB-certified projects in the Copenhagen area. In 2024, we also completed our first project with BREEAM certification.
Our approach is to always stay ahead of developments and create the best possible conditions for successful projects – benefiting both our customers and the communities where the projects take place. In addition, we bring our expertise into play in the development of LAR solutions (Local Rainwater Drainage) and landscape design, with a special focus on biodiversity and improving habitats for selected animal species
As a turnkey contractor, we stay up to date on new materials and solutions that make construction greener and more sustainable. Our ambition is to give customers buildings that are future-proof and energy-efficient – always tailored to their needs.
We have specialists in many fields, including certified sewer engineers, structural engineers, LCA and energy consultants, sustainability consultants, and fire safety consultants (BK2). This mix of expertise means we can give our customers clear advice on how to make their projects as energy-efficient and sustainable as possible –while still keeping within the financial and technical framework.
Our construction department manages and coordinates every phase of a project. This includes contracts with subcontractors, site and time management, quality assurance, coordination, and health and safety. As a turnkey contractor, we oversee the entire process and take responsibility from the first idea to the handover of the keys. This gives our customers peace of mind, a clear overview, and a solution that is optimized across all trades.
Our employees are the foundation IBG is a workplace that values strong professional communities, long-term commitment, and internal loyalty. We believe that well-being and teamwork are essential for both the quality of our projects and the growth of each employee. That is why we focus on creating the right conditions for a safe, healthy, and developing work environment – both in the office and on our construction sites.
We prioritize continuous training and skills development, and we involve our employees in shaping both the company and the solutions we deliver to our customers. Our culture is built on respect, openness, and an informal tone – with room for diversity as well as shared ambitions.
IBG aims to be an attractive workplace where people want to stay – and where they have the opportunity to grow. We see it as a natural part of our responsibility to support the education of young people.
We value the fresh perspectives and up-to-date knowledge that apprentices and interns bring to the company, and we see this as a strength that helps us stay up to date. At the same time, we want to contribute actively to the local community by being a workplace where young people take their first steps in the industry and develop professionally in a safe and ambitious environment.

Sustainability and Management Stragegy
Overall objective
We want sustainability and responsible business practices to be a natural part of IBG’s strategy, projects, and daily work. Our strategy connects our ESG efforts with our goal of becoming certified in quality (ISO 9001), health and safety (ISO 45001), and environmental management (ISO 14001).
These certifications give us a clear framework to work systematically with sustainability, measure our progress, and keep improving as a company.
The foundation: Certified management system and responsible environmental policy
• Our strategy is based on a responsible environmental policy and the establishment of a management system based on the ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.
• The certifications are intended to support systematicity, transparency, a culture of improvement, and documentation across the entire organization.
• ESG will not be a parallel initiative, but an integral part of the way we work—from planning to execution.
EEnvironmental
Future-proof and environmentally responsible construction and civil engineering
• We are committed to designing and delivering solutions that minimize climate and environmental impact.
• We aim to integrate LCA and energy calculations into projects as part of our standard practice.
• We will participate in projects where clients request sustainability certification (such as DGNB or BREEAM) and ensure that our services meet the requirements – while continuously strengthening our expertise in sustainable construction.
SSocial
Focus on working environment and employee well-being
• Our goal is to establish and follow up on occupational health and safety goals in line with the ISO 45001 standard.
• We are committed to investing in employee well-being, professional development, and a safe working environment – both on construction sites and in the office.
• We strive to build a culture of openness, collaboration, and strong employee involvement.
GGovernance
Anchoring and transparency
• We aim to ensure consistent quality, clear responsibilities, and continuous improvement by implementing the ISO 9001 standard.
• Our focus is on integrating ESG requirements into project execution, supplier management, and collaboration agreements.
• We are committed to enhancing transparency through ESG reporting and systematic follow-up on specific targets and KPIs.
Implementation and Follow-up
The strategy is carried out through our management system and supported by action plans in each department. We follow up continuously through internal and external audits, ESG reports, and key figures, which we use to guide improvements and set priorities.
It is management’s responsibility to ensure that the strategy is followed and developed in line with the needs of both the company and society.

Sustainable Development Goals

SDG 3 - GOOD HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT GOALS
We have chosen SDG 3 because a safe and healthy working environment is essential for well-being, quality, and stable operations. We work systematically with health and safety management and give high priority to both physical and mental well-being across the organization.
SDG 4 - QUALITY EDUCATION
IBG takes responsibility for supporting high-quality training for the skilled workers of tomorrow. Through apprenticeships and internships, we provide a safe and professional learning environment where young people can both contribute new knowledge and develop their skills in practice. Our goal is to be an attractive and reliable training partner in the industry.

SDG 8 - DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH
IBG aims to provide stable and engaging workplaces where high professional standards go hand in hand with wellbeing and safety. All employees are covered by a Danish collective agreement, ensuring fair pay and proper working conditions. We invest in skills development and view longterm employment, loyalty, and upskilling as the foundation for both sustainable growth and the quality of the work we deliver.
SDG 12 - RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION
Our goal is to promote responsible use of resources through concrete actions such as recycling materials, phasing out CO₂-intensive vehicles, and reducing idling. We are also working towards ISO 14001 certification and detailed CO₂ accounting to strengthen data-driven and sustainable practices in both our operations and projects.

SDG 16 - PEACE, JUSTICE AND STRONF INSTITUTIONS
We strengthen our management structure through an active and ambitious board of directors that sets the direction and follows up on strategic goals. With a focus on responsibility, ethics, and transparency, we work to build strong internal structures and a business culture based on integrity and respect – both within the company and in our relations with the outside world.
EEnvironmental
Responsibility and Development in Practice
With more than 50 years of experience in the Danish construction and civil engineering industry, IBG has always focused on working sustainably and in harmony with the environment. Today, environmental responsibility is a key part of our business strategy, and we are committed to contributing actively to the green transition.
Our environmental work is guided by three principles: prevention, awareness, and continuous improvement. We analyze our activities and consumption to find realistic opportunities to reduce CO₂ emissions, and these analyses form the basis for concrete initiatives. Data, systematic approaches, and employee involvement go hand in hand with our ambition – not only to meet requirements, but to help move the industry toward greater sustainability.
Environmental Policy
At IBG, we recognize our responsibility to protect the environment and reduce the impact of our activities on the surrounding area. Our goal is to run our business with a strong focus on environmental responsibility, while complying with all relevant legislation and standards.
We are committed to:

1. Pollution Prevention
We work actively to reduce waste, dust, noise, and other environmental impacts from our activities. This is achieved by using resources efficiently and recycling materials whenever possible.

2. Continuous Improvement
We regularly evaluate our environmental efforts and implement improvements to further reduce our impact.

5. Awareness and Education
We raise employee awareness of environmental issues and promote a culture where everyone takes responsibility for protecting the environment in their daily work.

4. Responsible Material Handling
We select materials and suppliers with care for the environment and work to minimize waste and unnecessary use of resources.

3. Compliance with Regulations and Requirements
We always ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulatory standards, and customer requirements for environmental protection.

We maintain open dialogue with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure that our environmental initiatives are clear, relevant, and effective.
Tangible Environmental Actions in 2025 and Beyond
2025

To support our strategic environmental efforts, IBG has identified a set of specific and measurable initiatives that we are committed to implementing in 2025 and beyond.
Replacement of the Vehicle Fleet
The company’s most CO₂-intensive vehicles will be phased out in 2025–2026 and replaced with more environmentally friendly alternatives – with a particular focus on increasing the share of electric cars.
Circular Economy in Projects
We will implement solutions that support the reuse of materials. This includes reusing soil through lime stabilization, which helps reduce the need for transport and new raw materials.
Reduction of Idling
We are introducing targeted measures to reduce idling time on construction machinery –through training, awareness, and new technological solutions.
Increased Level of Detail in CO2 Report
In the coming years, we will increase the level of detail in our CO₂ reporting. Our goal is to document our climate footprint more precisely – down to machine level – so we can make data-driven decisions and promote more responsible construction practices.
Systematic Approach to Our Environmental Work
We are working towards ISO 14001 certification as an integral part of our sustainability strategy. This will strengthen our structured approach to environmental management and ensure continuous improvement and transparency.
All initiatives are followed up through internal monitoring and evaluation to secure progress and impact – and to create real environmental value in both operations and projects.
SSocial
Work Environment and Well-Being

For us, a safe and healthy work environment is not just a requirement – it is essential for wellbeing, quality, and stable operations. The safety, health, and commitment of our employees are a natural part of how we do business.
We work systematically with the work environment, guided by a policy that emphasizes prevention, dialogue, and continuous improvement. Our efforts are structured in line with ISO 45001 and include regular work environment group meetings, near-miss reporting, annual well-being surveys, and ongoing safety and health training for employees.
We recognize that employee involvement and management focus are crucial to maintaining a strong safety culture. That is why the work environment is given the same priority as other business objectives, and we work actively to reduce risks and prevent accidents across all projects and operations.
Focus on Skills Development and Social Responsibility
At IBG, we see it as both a management task and a shared responsibility to ensure a safe and stimulating working environment – for our own employees as well as our partners. Training and skills development are a high priority, not only to strengthen quality and safety, but also to support motivation and personal growth. We offer ongoing professional development and tailored training programs that meet both the company’s needs and the career ambitions of our employees.
We value stability in our workforce and view retention as a strategic goal to preserve knowledge within the company. Through a strong culture, visible leadership, open dialogue, and a focus on wellbeing, we provide the framework for an attractive and long-term working life at IBG.
As a company, we also take social responsibility by contributing to the education of young people through apprenticeships and internships. We want to be a place where new generations can develop professionally and become part of our community. At the same time, we strive to be an inclusive workplace that welcomes people in different life situations – including those who need special support to take part in a meaningful working life.
Work Environment Policy
At IBG, we are committed to ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, partners, and others affected by our activities. We recognize that a good work environment is essential to both our company’s success and the well-being of our people.
We are committed to:

1. Prevention of Accidents and Injuries
We work systematically to identify, assess, and reduce risks in order to prevent workplace accidents, injuries, and work-related illnesses.
2. Continuous Improvements
We regularly evaluate our health and safety efforts in quarterly group meetings by reviewing reported near misses and implementing improvements to ensure a work environment that meets best practices and standards.
3. Compliance with Regulations and Requirements
We ensure full compliance at all times with occupational health and safety regulations, legal requirements, and other relevant obligations we have committed to.
4. Employee Involvement
We promote open dialogue and active participation of employees and their representatives in developing and maintaining the work environment. We also conduct an annual employee satisfaction survey.
5. Education and Awareness
We make sure all employees receive the knowledge and training they need to work safely and to protect both their own and others’ health and safety.
6. Safety and Priorities
We integrate health and safety into the planning and execution of our activities and take all necessary measures to protect employees from injuries and work-related accidents.
This policy is reviewed regularly to ensure compliance with the ISO 45001 standard and to support a strong health and safety culture at IBG.
GGovernance
Ethics and Certification
IBG is in the process of strengthening its management structure and strategic foundation. As part of this, the Board of Directors will take on a more active and visible role in setting and following up on the company’s strategic goals. This is a natural step in line with the company’s growth and the need for long-term direction and clear governance.
The Board of Directors also plays a key role in supporting the Executive Board – through strategic sparring, constructive dialogue, and close collaboration on the company’s direction and development.
Diversity in the Board of Directors and management is a priority, as different perspectives and experiences strengthen decision-making and contribute to a more robust and future-oriented company.
Quality Management and Code of Conduct
As part of its strategic development, IBG has begun implementing a quality management system to support consistent work processes and continuous improvement. The system will provide a common foundation for high quality, fast handling of deviations, and stronger competitiveness.
Ethics and responsibility are fundamental to the way we do business. We have introduced a Code of Conduct that sets out the requirements and expectations we place on ourselves and our suppliers. The goal is to ensure that everyone who delivers services and products to IBG meets the standards companies should follow – with respect for human rights, fair working conditions, environmental responsibility, and sound business ethics.
We also strive to build a culture of integrity, where transparency, respect, and responsibility are core values – both in our internal collaboration and in our relationships with customers, partners, and other stakeholders.
Whistleblower Policy
As part of our commitment to responsible business practices, we have established a whistleblower scheme in collaboration with the auditing firm Beierholm. The scheme allows employees and business partners to report serious matters – such as bribery, extortion, embezzlement, accounting manipulation, or sexual harassment – anonymously and securely.
This ensures that serious cases are handled credibly and independently, while supporting an open, trustworthy corporate culture built on integrity.
