The South Palm Beach County Legislative Agenda sets priority issues and regional advocacy in motion for our City Council, County Commission, State Legislators and U.S. Congressional leaders during the 2021 sessions. The Boca Chamber, South Palm Beach County’s voice for business, has created its annual Legislative Agenda. It was developed based on input from a dozen entities including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the Palm Beach County Business Development Board and The Boca Chamber membership.

BELOW ARE SOME KEY ISSUES THE CHAMBER WILL BE FOCUSING ON THIS YEAR: • Support efforts to create standard operating procedures (such as we have for hurricanes) for The City of Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Palm Beach County and State of Florida for health and safety threats with prescribed actions aligned with data benchmarks. • Advocate that business taxes and fees remain unchanged. • Ensure tourism revenue generating cities receive equitable allocation of tourism investment. • Support efforts to increase opportunities for Palm Beach State College and
Palm Beach County School District to collaborate on career, certificate, vocational and apprenticeship programs to ensure that students are college and/or work ready. • Support legislation with a retroactive effective date of January 1, 2020, that provides blanket immunity for employers from liability lawsuits related to any aspect of COVID 19. • Support legislation that enables Florida to collect online sales tax from companies without a physical presence in Florida.
