The project aims to build a modular housing system that can easily adapt to different types of morphological and climatic conditions and can be replicated in series based on a housing unit.
With this objective in mind, a selfsufficient housing unit is created, with clearly defined and functional common and private spaces, which can also be combined with additional identical units to create a logical urban set within a feasible city development plan, and with appropriate standards for modern living.

ACADEMIC PROJECT
BACHELOR THESIS - 2017
The educational institution’s project is proposed as the solution to a local problem within a marginalized sector of the city, where the precarious state of public and educational facilities lacks the minimum requirements for the provision of such services. Thus, proposing a zonal facility that encompasses and relocates users who receive education in buildings that are in poor condition or overcrowded and attempting to provide a poor response in the sector.
The project proposes the strategy of locating buildings as public use dependencies so that they can have a relationship with the exterior and generate activities on several fronts, while keeping the pedagogical function inside in a way that creates the intimacy and security required by its users.
As a second major strategy, the
building is proposed as a modular system adaptable to different situations or activities within the educational field, with the ability to interconnect recreational and circulation spaces with classrooms. All of this system is proposed within a modern educational systems strategy from the Netherlands, where circulation zones are seen as centers of activities and encounters for young people who pass through them, thus creating open spaces with finishes that generate these types of relationships

2nd PLACE AWARD - 2017
The location of the building is strongly conditioned by the preexistence of natural elements. Firstly, there is a canal present, which requires the project to be isolated 15 meters away from it. Secondly, the designated area is located at the highest point of the campus with steep topography and surrounded by trees that are necessary to preserve.
The project aims to align itself with the main axis with which the rest of the campus was designed. In a geometrical play that seeks to respect the fauna, the building is elevated in three modular blocks
that contain the entire proposed program for the competition. These blocks are vertically adapted to better respond to the topography.
Finally, the entire volume is interconnected by a platform on a higher level to create a comfortable path to walk on such irregular terrain and to make a large space for multiple activities for the students to perform
CCD CUNA DE CAMPEONES
WORKING FOR EDWARD CONDE SERNA FIRM - PRIVATE COMPETITION
2nd PLACE AWARD - 2018
The project aims to build a strong relationship between the CCD (Center for childhood development) and the inhabitants of the 20th commune, offering them different options for cultural and recreational growth. By promoting the use of the educational building’s facilities by the nearby community and its population, the lot, due to its location and urban structure, is defined as a site for arrival and concentration of various activities. Therefore, the project seeks to be a center that responds to that concentration and the community’s needs on all its urban edges.
As the first strategy, the project locates the collective buildings (access to the family building,
multiple classrooms, and the dining room) on the ground floor in such a way that they respond to and generate activity on all four edges. In the middle of these buildings, the educational building is located, becoming the core of the project and providing privacy and security to its users.
As the second strategy, the educational building (kindergarten) is proposed as a changeable and adaptable modular system to different pedagogical arrangements and situations. It has the capacity to grow or shrink, creating both open (empty) and closed (constructed) spaces with patterns of closely linked association and interconnection between its parts.
As the third strategy, the building proposes an urban platform that allows the extension of public space over its roof. The platform adapts to the topography generated by the foothills, creating recreational activities and enjoyment of the immediate landscape

Multi-Family Residence
Profesional Project Built at - 2019
The Project is developed on a consolidated property with a pre-existing building; a family residence with colonial and natural architecture features; the former passage of a watercourse with a zone of large trees that surround it, which the project respects and adapts in its conception.
Given the restrictions, the building is forced to have only one main front for ventilation and lighting, which is why the roof becomes an element of great importance to provide the habitability solutions required by a housing project in a warm climate.
Thus, a facade with large openings was created that faces a rear garden
and zenithal openings at both edges of the building, creating impervious surfaces that serve as channels for hot air venting and the main source of illumination for all spaces that are not related to the main facade.
The ground floor was slightly adapted to the irregular terrain of the lot prior to its intervention, creating a series of levels that create a distinction of hierarchies between the spaces of the ground floor apartment.
From the second and third floors, the focus shifts to creating a visual relationship with a large wooded area that is its neighbor, guiding its journey and culminating in a total opening from its garden terrace

ARCHITECT, ALEJANDRO VELEZ TROCHEZ Profesional Project Built at (Phase 1) - 2021
A request is made to create a home for occasional family use in a rural property with a quite irregular mountainous terrain. As an initial response, a platform is created that partially rests on the ground and takes advantage of its height to create views towards the natural landscape that surrounds it.
As the house extends, the uneven terrain allows for the creation of a second floor that is accessed by descending an exterior staircase, which serves as the finishing touch for the platform and lookout surrounding the main façade of the building.
The project mostly utilizes lightweight elements, creating the
illusion that it is lightly placed on the ground with a thin metal structure that also allows for the opening of large openings and a whole system of lattices on its façade, keeping the interior always fresh and illuminated.
Finally, a series of platforms are created that embrace the mountain, seeking more recreational spaces given the regulatory restrictions on the land that prevented further extension of the construction itself.
Likewise, the construction seeks to respect, in the same way it tries to respect its natural surroundings, the honesty of the construction materials, leaving them exposed without major finishes beyond what they offer
The project was designed to be built in two phases, so far the client has only developed one of them

The project proposes the remodeling of the service area and kitchen, which are in poor condition and do not meet the basic needs or requirements of the user. There were several existing dividing walls that hindered the space and its proper use, which are proposed to be demolished to create continuity between the washing and cooking areas. A complete change of pipes and drains is made to match the new design, which is proposed in light and neutral tones, generating spaciousness in the space and wooden textures creating a more welcoming atmosphere and inviting the use of new furniture.
The design for this furniture aims to match a new construction and a modern atmosphere, worthy of being the finishing touch to a social area with views of the exterior. The generous spaces are used to create wide and comfortable circulation for the simultaneous use of multiple users, with an extensive workspace area using high-traffic material (DEKTON) and sufficient storage to supply the belongings of a complete family. The furniture seeks to adapt and create a new useful and sculptural sense to a structural element that disrupts the furniture’s visual, thus integrating that foreign element into the whole that makes up the kitchen

The apartment aims to create a living and home office solution for a couple who works from home. Taking advantage of the generous natural light in the main spaces, a range of dark tones was chosen, with an ashy-toned wooden floor to add depth to the space. The carpentry features concrete and wood tones to create contrast, enhancing the flooring while creating as much storage as possible without overcrowding the already limited spaces provided by the construction.
Finally, the kitchen and dining area, being the focal point of the social area, stands out as a large white volume that rests the eye and creates a sense of spaciousness in the area
The intervention was made on a twostory existing house, where all the spaces were divided, creating small and dark areas. Reinforcements were made to the structure using metal columns and beams, which allowed us to demolish walls and expand virtually all areas of the house, including an additional floor and a terrace. On the first floor, openings were made across the main facade, and a patio was added at the back of the house, creating a visual focal point and allowing continuous ventilation.
The proposal for the living room on the ground floor provides an uninterrupted and much cleaner view of the first floor. Large format porcelain tiles with a concrete-like texture and cream tones were chosen for the floors, creating the illusion of spaciousness and depth in the space. The carpentry is highlighted against the white high-gloss materials and maple wood, adding color and warmth to the house.
On the upper floors, the entire private area of the house is developed, with three bedrooms with private bathrooms on the second level and a third floor with a study and a terrace that takes advantage of the view of a nearby natural area
