An architectural thesis analyzing the history and evolution of baseball stadium design. The issue identified is that of usage; how can these multi-billion dollar facilities better serve their communities all year round? Teams often use taxpayer money to partially fund their palaces, yet the ballpark only serves as a revenue source for the team. This thesis overlays the program of the city with the program of the ballpark to serve as an urban catalyst for community building, equity, and economic growth, using the Armour Square neighborhood in Chicago as a case study.
