Energy policies for: a) electricity, b) all other uses and by-products Ronald Stein November 11, 2023 Energy policies should be broken down to: ● Electricity generation policies and ● Policies for products to support our materialistic society. A few notes about electricity: Before the discovery of crude oil, there was no electricity. Today, everything that needs electricity is made from petrochemicals manufactured from crude oil, such as light bulbs, iPhones, defibrillators, refrigerators, televisions, etc. Today, we have numerous ways to generate electricity, ● Continuous uninterruptible electricity from coal, natural gas, nuclear, and hydro. ● Occasional electricity from wind turbines and solar panels. Like the products that need electricity, all the methods to generate electricity are also dependent on the petrochemicals manufactured from crude oil to make all the parts and components of every method to generate electricity. None of the methods for the generation of electricity can manufacture anything to support the materialistic society! They can charge an iPhone, but cannot make the iPhone. They can make the defibrillator work in the hospital, but cannot make the defibrillator. 1
