welcome sanbonani dumelang You’re about to explore a unique area in Johannesburg where street interactions, cultural experiences, food and lifestyle take centre stage. Rosebank is fast becoming an important economic node, set to become the third largest high-rise business centre in the City after the inner city and Sandton. While filled with a number of office developments, Rosebank is a hub of leisure activity including malls, hotels, restaurants, movie houses, coffee spots, galleries, bars and markets. Combined with growing residential densification, Rosebank has an unparalleled day and night urban vibrancy. The launch of the Gautrain into the heart of the area has resulted in increasing confidence and investment. Of course, the convenience of the Gautrain and the area’s centrality means it’s easier than ever to explore some of our neighbouring suburbs whilst using Rosebank as a home away from home.
We’re on the streets to make Rosebank better for you

Lying directly between Joburg’s historic city centre and the newer Sandton business district, and with a Gautrain station on its doorstep, Rosebank is one of the most popular places to be in Joburg whether for business or leisure. Rosebank’s busy pedestrianised shopping precinct, centred around three interconnected malls The Firs, Rosebank Mall and The Zone@Rosebank, hums with a diverse crowd who come to find the latest fashions and enjoy Rosebank’s many restaurants and café society. Meanwhile the skyline is steadily being filled with sparkling new office towers and luxurious high-rise apartments joined by chic new nightlife and dining destinations such as Keyes Art Mile (also known for its contemporary art galleries) and Park Corner. These attract a young, and fashionable crowd. Rosebank sits amid 'The Parks' area of Joburg, a cluster of pretty treefilled suburbs each with their own distinct character and all no more than a ten-minute drive from the centre. To the west, you'll find Parktown North and Parkhurst, both known for an abundance of restaurants and cafés. Parkhurst's main street 4th Avenue is a particularly popular street for an afternoon stroll, with window shopping and plenty of pavement cafés. To the south lies Parkwood with its Art Gallery Row along Jan Smuts Avenue, the expansive Zoo Lake park and the suburb of Parkview with its delightful village-like high street Tyrone Avenue. To the north along Jan Smuts Avenue is upmarket Hyde Park and along Oxford Road heading towards Sandton Central is Illovo, another popular restaurant area. Heading east of Rosebank are the upmarket suburbs of Melrose and the Melrose Arch precinct. For more go to johannesburg.inyourpocket.com

USING THE GAUTRAIN The Gautrain (pronounced ‘How-train’) rapid rail service links Joburg, Pretoria and O.R. Tambo International Airport via two lines. To use the Gautrain buy a Gold Card at the station. Load it with a minimum of R25. The Rosebank station opens at 05:10 and closes at 21:20. To get to O.R. Tambo International Airport take the train to Sandton and change to the airport line. The last train to O.R. Tambo leaves Sandton at 21:04, the first at 04:50. Each Gautrain station is served by a Gautrain bus network linking to nearby suburbs (Gautrain buses run on weekdays only). From the Rosebank Gautrain Station catch a bus to Melrose Arch (RB2), Hyde Park (RB4), Killarney (RB5) or Illovo (RB3). The first Gautrain bus leaves Rosebank at 06:21 and the last at 20:01 (the last bus to Killarney is at 18:59) and runs at intervals of 20 minutes to 40 minutes depending on the time of day.
