Events for 2014-15 Beach Clean-up Activity (TBD)
March 2013-February 2014
On behalf of the Government and the people of Japan, I take great pleasure in congratulating the Jamaica JET Alumni Association (JJETAA) for a very productive 2013 year. You have been playing an instrumental role in the promotion of Japan in Jamaica. I wish to encourage you to continue your efforts in promoting a stronger relationship between our countries especially by way of cultural and educational activities. In 2013, you have undertaken several projects to transfer knowledge and skills honed in Japan to the Jamaican people. You have become goodwill ambassadors by going to schools to present the Japanese culture, being involved in the beach clean-up activity, and preparing new JETs for Japan. Your assistance towards the Embassy’s cultural events was also highly appreciated. I am aware that there are challenges due to your work schedule
have also expanded network among international friends, visited a variety of places, more places which broadened your understanding of cultural diversity and grew professionally. With such experiences, some of you have expressed that you are more confident, tolerant and open-minded.

Since the JET Programme was introduced in Jamaica in 2000, over 200 Jamaicans have participated. Many of you have immersed yourselves in the Japanese culture and were able to find similarities while coping with the differences as well. You
My heartfelt appreciation and best wishes for continued success to you all.
