Surviving COVID-19 In March 2021, we invited our JET Alumni community to share their thoughts on their COVID-19 pandemic experiences and coping strategies. Respondents shared one word that described their experience:

Physical & Mental Health Activities
I created and launched a blog. I thoroughly enjoyed the creation process. Baking - trying new recipes. Learning to sew masks following YouTube tutorials Learn new stuff weekly Watched more YouTube videos Walking, Reading, Netflix Reigniting my reading time Reading books. I've always been a reader but because of the isolation and imposed hibernation I've retreated even further into my books. As a consequence my e-books bill has gone up significantly!
Encouraging and talking to others with similar issues as my own Spending more time with family Resting for longer periods Physical exercise Working on my fitness and health Meditation Decidedly making it a “lay low period” - so reduced travel, reduced eating out, reduced spending. Hence a bit more saving and a bit more focus on refashioning a post pandemic self (I expect it will end at some point provided I survive it)
Career & Work Activities Started my first business Since the start of the pandemic, I have delved into more online courses as well as begun deepening my skills in landscape photography
