While the hot Summer days continue to absorb into our skin; heating up the air around us, let us test our first memories of Summer. How far back can you remember? Were you dipping your toes in a pool, parading through the heat of the concrete jungle, or lying on the green grass surrounded by trees like a turtle sunbathing on a rock? How many of those memories include you and a cold, sweet treat?

The one true constant during Summertime: ice cream. Can you remember sun rays melting down your popsicle? The sticky sweetness dripping down your hands. No napkin can salvage that mess! Water from the hose outside or from your friend's sink was the only way to clean that up. Or if you're a little monster licking every drop, leaving nothing to waste.

Soft serve or Spongebob popsicles from the Ice Cream Truck, icee's from the carts on the streets, frozen yogurt from Costco, popsicles from your childhood friend...wherever you go on a hot Summer day, ice cream is bound to be within your perimeter. So go ahead and indulge your cool, sweet fantasies of Summer satisfaction.

this summer was mine

the bitter turned sweet wine grazed my lips and invaded my tongue a cry of relief stayed stuck in my throat, releasing as a sigh my head thrown back, i allow the wind to kiss my skin and run its fingers through my hair

this summer was mine

the night sky fleeting and with it, past versions of me gathered and fled off to neverland, where they'll dance with the worries and fears that no longer haunt me

this summer was mine

daffodils grew and bloomed where my tears fell fostering a garden of newfound identity

lighting up the best and worst parts of me this summer was mine

sun rays shine and reflect on the mirror,

my hands instinctively rise in search for refuge but the soft breeze that slips through a cracked window i rise to instead surrender and worship this vessel i reside in this summer was mine the birds and trees found a friend in me, as i sat down in the grass whispering my secrets to the wind, everything around me became my lover who knew the melody of a bird's song and a sweet lady's laugh would save me? this summer was mine ill let the strawberry moon illuminate on me casting a love spell between life and my psyche bound to this season eternally this summer was mine

With love, Jairy 4.

‘Sex and the City’ was more than just a television show that I used to sit quietly in the living room to sneak and watch, hoping my mother forgot I was in the room; it was a cultural phenomenon that reshaped fashion norms. Premiering in 1998, it went on to influence an entire generation’s approach to style.

The show introduced viewers to the bold, eclectic fashion choices of Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York, Miranda Hobbes, and Samantha Jones Its Impact is still felt today, making it a perfect subject for exploring the enduring legacy of its fashion.

Organizing this fundraiser was not only meaningful to me, but critical as our stance is not respected nor recognized at the University of Miami. The University denied an organization proposal for “ ‘Canes for Palestine” and not only limited but refused protests on campus. Is it a protest if you ask for permission?

It has been almost one year since the October 7th tragedy. The months of murder and torture in Israel and Palestine have been a hard pill to swallow for everyone. However, if you’re reading this you have some type of privilege, and that is something individuals in America lack a sense of I am neither Palestinian, Israeli or Jewish, but it is undeniable the irrevocable damage and apartheid state Israel continues to be in since the Nakba. Funnily, that is the same day zionists celebrate their independence which reminds me of America’s equivalence of “Columbus Day” here.

“Beingfrommultipledifferent formsofprivilegeand marginalization,Ineededtodo somethingbesidessitandpost onInstagramaboutthedeath tolls”

I am blessed enough to have so many connections at the University of Miami where I attend. I have met so many educated peers and they have educated me on this, including the deep history of colonization (in general) since being here. I was in shock when I met Zionists who were also Jewish here in Miami. In NYC, 99% of my Jewish peers in New York were Pro Palestine/ Anti- Ethno State.

My friend Sophia Plancich and I threw a fundraiser party to donate 100% of proceeds to the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund. It was of utmost importance to donate to children since they have been affected by so many irreversible fatalities and experienced genocide before a maturity age

We gathered bands of all genres, all of which agreed to donate their time to perform at a party in which they were donating their “shares” essentially. We ended up raising $2,300 for the PCRF
