What initially drew you to pursuing a career as a music artist?
I’ve been a musical entity since I can remember.
I remember singing and dancing like a popstar when I got a karaoke machine one christmas, and that just transitioned into learning how to read music, and playing and singing jazz.
Eventually that manifested into me expressing myself through different musical mediums, and I became ME.
04
What fashion trends or designers are currently inspiring you or influencing your style?
I would say that I’m really lucky, because my mom is lowkey very much so a fashion icon.
I pull a lot of inspiration from her, my alternative phases, fashion books and magazines, and of course, Uptown.
02
Can you describe your personal style and how it reflects your musical identity?
My style is a mixture of all the phases I’ve gone through, where I am, and where I want to be. My memories have made a grimoire of aesthetics, and I love flipping through the pages, and conjuring something unique each time.
03
How do you approach the songwriting process? Do you have any rituals or methods that help you get inspired?
I wish, I just listen to beats until something gets my spidey senses tingling. Once words and melodies start flowing out of my mind, is usually when I lock in.
05
Are there any iconic fashion moments in music history that have inspired you or influenced your style?
When I first saw Britney Spears’ Toxic music video, I realized I don’t have to make each aesthetic a religion, and I can flow through them freely depending on my mood.
06
Can you share any upcoming projects or goals you’re excited about in your music career?
I’m working on a new era of music right now.
I’m not sure in what format I’m going to package it in to be released, but I know it’s the most organic and vulnerable music I’ve made to date. This year is all about consistency, back to back drops, visuals, and looks.

What initially drew you to pursuing a career as a music artist?
My dad was a big Michael Jackson fan and he would always play his songs and videos at home. I really enjoyed watching Michael perform and it inspired me to become who I am today.
02
Can you describe your personal style and how it reflects your musical identity?
I don’t really have a personal style, I kind of like to experiment with what I wear. It’s almost the same with my music actually. I just do what I want when I feel like it.
03
How do you approach the songwriting process? Do you have any rituals or methods that help you get inspired?
I like to take different approaches when it comes to song writing. Sometimes I start with a beat, sometimes I start with a melody I created or sometimes I start with a phrase, word or concept It’s a lot of trial and error but I just like to play around and see what works and sounds good together.
04
What fashion trends or designers are currently inspiring you or influencing your style?
I don’t know if this answers the question but being from NYC inspires my style. There are so many different people following so many different trends and wearing so many different things. It gives me major inspiration.
05
Are there any iconic fashion moments in music history that have inspired you or influenced your style?
There are too many to choose from! I love looking out for the Met Gala. I think the creativity is amazing and it reminds me that fashion knows no bounds.
06
Can you share any upcoming projects or goals you’re excited about in your music career?
I’ve been working on a mixtape that I’m expecting to put out before the end of the year. I’m very excited to share all my hard work with everyone, I think it’ll give people a better idea of who Khmeii is :)

I feel like theres no ture definition of a woman because a woman can be a lot of things, born one or not. a woman can be masculine, feminine or both and they can switch it up as much as they please. but what really makes a woman is her confidence in her creativity and whatever she does no matter how anyone percieves her, and she makes other woman confident in their true selves as well.
