Puget Sound is home to no less than five Dambo Trolls! Plan a day trip with family and friends and go visit these eco-giants, created with recycled materials by Danish artist Thomas Dambo. October marks the 24th anniversary of Tacoma Arts Month – a community celebration of the arts that includes many community-hosted arts and culture events, exhibits and workshops for all ages taking place throughout the month Programming includes music and dance performances, hands-on experiences, visual art exhibits, film screenings, literary readings, lectures, cultural events, and workshops Some of the signature events are:

What a better way to get ready to stuff your belly than a fun run! The Gig Harbor Turkey Trot is a 5k run, walk, and stroll that takes place on Thanksgiving morning. It continues to be an annual Gig Harbor and family tradition. They continue to collect two cans of food per participant which is still donated to F.I.S.H. and now also to BackPack for Kids. And the funds raised go towards college scholarships for local graduating high school seniors.

In the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest is Mount Baker Renowned for its extreme weather and snowfall, it offers a abundant variety for skiers and snowboarders, complete with options for lessons and equipment rentals. Prefer snow play? Tubing, sledding, and snowshoeing are available too
Start at the Heather Meadows Day Lodge as it provides access to Highwood Lake for tubing and sledding, as well as Artist Point for snowshoeing adventures Visit their website for lift ticket details.
