"TEA PARTY" IS RESISTANCE TO SOCIALISM AND INDENTURED TAXATION

Thousands of Americans from across the country are gathering on April 15 at the Oregon State Capital Building and other locations across the USA to protest and resist $1,200,000,000,000 (that's trillion) in new taxes and bailouts already put in place by the new Obama administration. Groups sponsoring the event include Americans for Prosperity, Oregon Patriotic Resistance, Resistnet.com, Renew America, WE Surround Them USA Oregon and The Silent Majority No More. "Boston Tea Parties" are taking place nationwide and Americans from every social-economic and political backgrounds are taking to the streets to protest the "stimulus package" recently passed by the

Obama administration. The Tea Party idea began with a challenge by Obama critic Rick Santelli-an analyst for CNBC, speaking on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade-to have a Chicago Tea Party this summer. As a result of Mr. Santelli's challenge, at least 27 such Tea Parties were held on February 27 in various cities all over the U.S. Additional Tea Parties were held in March and more are scheduled for April and beyond. On April 15, a huge Silent Majority No More, Nationwide Tax Day Tea Party is planned. According to one of the organizers, Oregon Patriot District leader Jim Vause, Oregon is one of the most involved states in the union with 13 protests planned in the State so far. According to Vause, the Salem rally will begin at 11:00 a.m. on April 15 at the

Oregon Capital steps and should last until around 2 p.m. Vause is joined by countless Oregonians and Americans when he states that "our voice is not being heard and much is going on in this country behind closed doors and our voice is being ignored. We need to get back to the basics, our Constitution is being stepped on, our rights are being taken away or violated. The country is on a path to socialism and this is our effort to turn that around. Everyone who cares about what is happening in our Nation and in Oregon is welcome to attend. Vause can be reached at jrvause@ msn.com or go to http://www.resistnet.com/ group/oregon for more information about continued resistance plans.

Legal Watch for '09

As Christians, we are commanded to pray for our leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-2. Whether we were one of the 62 million Americans who voted for Barack Obama to be inaugurated as America's 44th President, or one of the 57 million who voted for someone else, God's Word applies to us all. In fact, it might be even more important to pray for those we do not agree with when God has placed them in authority over our nation. As we pray for our new President, for our

Congress, and for our other leaders, there are several signposts that can help us evaluate just how helpful or destructive toward Biblical laws government officials will be in protecting our important religious liberties. The following issues are key ones to watch in 2009 and beyond: * The Homosexual Agenda * Appointment of Federal Judges * The Life Agenda * Federalized Euthanasia

local news local news Nearly Nine of Ten Oregonians highlights

Would Opt Out of Regular Public Schools

Oregon, Jan. 5/Cascade Policy Institute/ -- Nearly nine out of ten Oregon residents would send their children to private, charter, or virtual schools, or educate their children in a home school setting if they had the decision-making authority, according to the results of a public opinion survey released today by the Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice, the Cascade Public Policy Institute, and several other state and national organizations. Eighty-seven percent of residents polled would opt for schools other than regular public schools, according to the survey. “As we have found in several other states, parents in Oregon clearly want to have more options in the education of their children,” said Robert Enlow, executive director of the Indianapolis-based Friedman Foundation, which undertook the study on behalf of the sponsoring organizations. “In short, they want school choice.” “Cascade Policy Institute was founded in part on Milton Friedman’s idea that all families should be able to choose where their children go to school,” said Cascade founder Steve Buckstein. “Now we have even more evidence that most Oregonians agree.” When asked “if it were your decision and you could select any type of school, what type of school would you select in order to obtain the best education for your child,” here’s how Oregonians responded: • 44 percent selected private schools • 24 percent selected charter schools • 14 percent selected home schooling • 13 percent selected regular public schools • 5 percent selected virtual schools The survey demonstrates a wide disconnect between schooling preferences and actual school enrollments. While forty-four percent of Oregon parents said they would like to send their child to a private school, only 7 percent of Oregon’s students attend private schools. Twenty-four percent of Oregon parents said they would like to send their child to a charter school, yet charter schools enroll only about 2 percent of the state’s students. While only thirteen percent of Oregon parents said they would choose a regular public school for their child, more than nine out of ten — 91 percent — attend regular public schools. The implication of these results is that Oregon, like many other states, does not have sufficient school choice systems in place to match parents’ schooling preferences. Other results of the survey: • School choice is not a partisan issue among Oregon residents. The survey results

indicate general agreement among Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. There is potential in Oregon to put aside party differences and work together on systemic reforms, as there are shared common views on school choice policies. High levels of support exist for school vouchers, tax-credit scholarships, charter schools, and personaluse tax credits and deductions for education expenses. • Fifty-eight percent of the survey respondents rated Oregon public schools as poor or fair, while 31 percent rated the schools as good or excellent. More than one in three (36%) said that lack of accountability was the biggest challenge confronting the public schools, followed by poor student discipline and self-control (19%). • Fifty six percent say Oregon’s level of public school funding is “about right” or “too high,” though when asked how much they thought was spent on each student, more than two of three (67%) underestimated the per pupil expenditure. In 2006, the per-pupil student funding in Oregon was $9,666; sixty-seven percent believed that amount to be $8,000 or less. • Oregonians show potentially high demand for new school models such as charter schools, virtual schools and vouchers. Survey results show 70 percent of voters are favorable to charter schools, 51 percent are favorable to virtual schools, and 63 percent are favorable to vouchers. Twenty-four percent strongly favor charter schools, 13 percent strongly favor virtual schools, and 19 percent strongly favor vouchers. These findings remain consistently high across family income groups. The scientifically representative poll of 1,200 likely Oregon voters was conducted in September by Strategic Vision, an Atlantabased public affairs agency whose polls have been used by Newsweek, Time Magazine, BBC, ABC News, and USA Today, among others. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. The Oregon findings are the latest in a series of surveys commissioned under the Friedman Foundation’s Survey in the State project. Previous surveys include Montana, released in October, Maryland, in August, 2008; Oklahoma, released in June 2008; Idaho and Tennessee, both in March of 2008; Nevada, January, 2008; Illinois, December 2007; Georgia, April 2007; Florida, January 2006; and Arizona, January 2005. Other sponsors of the survey include Children’s Scholarship Fund-Portland, Northwest Professional Educators, Oregon Education Tax Credit Coalition, American Legislative Exchange Council, Black Alli-

ance for Educational Options, and Hispanic Council for Reform and Educational Options. The Indianapolis-based Friedman Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 1996. The origins of the foundation lie in Milton and Rose Friedman’s longstanding concern about the serious deficiencies in America’s elementary and secondary public schools. The best way to improve the quality of education, they believe, is to enable all parents to have a truly free choice of the schools that their children attend. The Friedman Foundation works to build upon this vision clarify its meaning to the general public and amplify the national call for true education reform through school choice. The Cascade Policy Institute, founded in 1991, is a nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy research and educational organization that focuses on state and local issues in Oregon. Cascade’s mission is to develop and promote public policy alternatives that foster individual liberty, personal responsibility and economic opportunity.

Dear Pastors and Friends,

i

The Bible exhorts us in I Timothy 2:1-3 to "Pray for all kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness." In the spring of 2007, more than 500 pastors and other Christian leaders took this admonition to heart by participating in the Oregon Family Council's first-ever "Pastors Day at the Capitol." The response to this event from both legislators and Christian leaders was overwhelmingly positive. Furthermore, a bill that contained troublesome provisions that would have imposed dramatic restrictions on religious liberties was amended to include ironclad religious protections. Now, another legislative session has begun, and our state is facing a host of difficult economic and social challenges. Our elected officials need our prayers, support and biblical perspective to help navigate these challenging times. That’s why we are urging you to join us for another critical "Pastors and Christian Leaders Day at the Capitol." Here are the details: Pastors and Christian Leaders Day at the Capitol Tuesday, April 14th, 11:00 AM Salem Convention Center 200 Commercial St SE, Salem

On this day, we’re asking senior and staff pastors, elders, board members, and leaders of private schools and religious ministries to join us for a special meeting in Salem. We will gather at the Salem Convention Center and enjoy a catered lunch and informative briefing. Next, participating pastors and leaders will take the short walk or ride the provided shuttle to the Capitol. Meetings with the Senator and Representative from your area will be pre-scheduled to take place from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. How to Register: To reserve a place for yourself and other staff pastors or leaders, simply return the coupon enclosed with this letter. You can also register by calling the Oregon Family Council at 503-257-0444. Legislative leaders are often unaware of how laws they pass affect churches and religious organizations’ freedom to worship and to meet needs in their communities. Please join us on April 14th as we stand together and express our thoughts, concerns and support to state leaders. We look forward to hearing from you.

ONLINE EDITOR’S NOTE: THIS FILM FEATURES GRAPHIC VIOLENCE AND LEWD SEXUAL CONTENT. THIS REVIEW REFERENCES THAT CONTENT AND IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN. Harvey's moral goals run counter to biblical Christianity. But some of his actions and words are well worth noting here: He shows a great deal of righteous anger when a gay man is killed and the police apparently don't care to find the killer. He tells a young homosexual, near suicide, to not give up hope and promises him that "God doesn't hate you." Also, Harvey is a savvy politician who understands the power of like-minded people within the confines of our representational democracy. "We have to let them know who we are," he says. Forget Dan White: The film suggests that the Christian Church—at least the conservative wing of the Church—is the real villain. That Church is at first personified by Anita Bryant, a one-time singer who, in the 1970s, spearheaded a conservative Christian movement to oppose special rights based on sexual identity or behavior. She says that she "loves homosexuals," though the filmmakers clearly doubt her sincerity. We see Bryant only in actual news footage, where she advocates making homosexuality illegal and discusses the "evil forces around us." "Tonight the laws of God and the culture values of man have been vindicated," she declares after a victory. Harvey's response? "Anita Bryant did not win tonight. Anita Bryant brought us together." Briggs explains that his Proposition 6 is designed to root out "gay perverts and pedophiles," and during a debate with Harvey declares, "You can argue with me. You cannot argue with God." a church, talking about how special rights based on sexuality are a threat to God's laws and traditional family values—a sentiment that is repeatedly derided in Milk. The film also shows a Christian questioning where Jesus' pledge to love one another is to be found in the debate over Prop. 6, while an Episcopal pastor tells us that the proposition could lead to "a very severe witch hunt." Harvey attends the christening of Dan White's baby boy in a Catholic church. Speaking about homosexual sex, Harvey says, "Don't knock it till you've tried it." And, indeed, Harvey is shown (a lot) with two sexual partners. He and Scott are in bed together—briefly engaged in a sexual act. (The camera sees the back of one of them.) Afterwards, a more lingering scene depicts them talking in bed while apparently nude. (They're partially covered with sheets.) The two kiss and embrace frequently, and Scott swims in someone's pool naked. (The camera stays behind him.) Harvey meets his other sexual partner, Jack, after Scott leaves. Harvey takes him home and the two frolic nude in the shadows, tackling and slapping each other. Later, Harvey caresses Jack and reminds Jack of his name. "I love you, Harvey," Jack says. The two of them also hug and kiss frequently, and Jack performs a striptease for Harvey, taking off his belt before the scene ends. Several other men are shown kissing and caressing, and one of Harvey's friends performs oral sex on another in a back room. (The scene is shot from the waist up.) Characters pass around pictures of a nude male model who is lounging on his stomach, and Scott shows off a nude centerfold at a political rally. (Some of the model's pubic hair is visible onscreen). Poets Corner The Flame

There is a flame within my heart which burns throughout the day, A love for Yahweh's holy word To seek and then obey. The flame burns bright, as morning light, Sunshine without the rain, Enlightening the darkened way So life I may obtain. The burning bush was not consumed When Moses saw the flame, He looked upon and then was told, My people go reclaim. Go, bring them out of Egypt With you shall I be there, To guide your steps along the way And safely bring them here. And so it is with Yahweh's word Which burns within my heart, It guides me in the narrow way From there shall I not part.

I'm afraid far too many Catholics, Protestants, and Jews will wait until it hits them upside the head on a very personal level before they will do something besides talk about it. But by then it will be too late. The Muslim religion is the fastest growing religion per capita in the United States, especially in the minority races!!! I recently attended my annual training session that's required for maintaining my state prison security clearance. During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who explained each of their beliefs. Soldiers in a Line The Clashing of Philosophies By; Darold Edwards

By Pastor Jim Moore Imagine a row of Soldiers stretched out in a line along the top of a ridge... They are positioned at arms lengh from one another, watching and alert, with their weapons in hand. They rest in shifts. They cover for one another as they eat. They are frequently attacked and shot at. It is far from a life of ease and comfort. Their mission is to hold the sacred ground that they have been given, and they would rather die than quit. They are the Watchers. Before they lay down to sleep, they must make sure the ground is secured for the night. The Night Watch has just come up to report for duty. They are fewer in numbers for a variety of reasons. Some have jobs. Some have families. Many do not have the physical capacity to live as though day is night and night is day. These are the elite. Though they are few in number, they excel in dedication, sacrifice and determination. Many of us are not even aware of the debt we owe to them. I have just described to you the Intercessors who daily stand in the place of prayer, every day, 24 hours a day, at the Salem House of Prayer. This is a cry for help. This is a plea for additional soldiers. This is the Captain of one platoon, writing to his fellow companions in the battle, to come and send reinforcements so that the line can be held a little longer. We are in desperate need of Intercessors for the Night Watch. Let me explain why. Imagine that line again. The enemy forces alway seek out the part of the line that has the fewest soildiers, or where they are the most spread out. For this line, it is the night watch. We currretly have 3 people who are covering 18-25 prayer shifts a week at night. They have time and time again come under serious assault. One of these brothers had a rare stone in his appendix suddenly appear and after months of inabity to properly diagnose it, finally had it surgically removed. This has left him suceptable to various afflictions, and he is still trying to recover...all

while he is still praying. Another young lady again had abdominal pains that the doctors could not seem to understand. She was just recently told that she had a cist that ruptured, and now she is unable to stand at her watch while she is recovering. This leaves just one brand new recruit, who has come with fresh passion to help, to come and stand with the recovering brother in the night watch. These are real people who are making real sacrifices because they believe in the extreme vaule and the nobility of night and day prayer. They believe...as many of you do...that Salem must have an corporate altar of unceasing prayer, if we are to truly expect to have a habitation of the Lords presence, that alone will transform our cities. They believe it so much...that they are laying down their lives for it. Let me make it clear what we are asking you for: We are asking you to come and sign up for daily or weekly prayer. Specifically between the hours of 12mid to 6am. We need pray-ers. We appreciate all the wonderful emails. We greatly value all the words of encouragement and the pats on the back, that have over and over kept us going. But now we need you. We need your human body in the prayer room, coming and praying on a predictable schedule. We need you to literally sign up for prayer. Our troops are thin. They are tired and weary, but they are more determined than ever. With respect I ask you, please do not call or write us to say that we simply need to quit. You will not be doing us any favors. But please do call or write to say you can come and pray. We love you. We need you. We appeal to you. Please come. If you absolutely cannot come, then please pray that others will.

Though man may be created equal, he certainly does not remain so. Once he grows to the point were he begins to form his own opinions concerning himself and the world he lives in based on any number of influences and teachings he has been exposed to, he shows some major in-equalities among themselves. Philosophies, concepts, and beliefs are formed by which he continues to think, speak, and have his conversations, by which his behavior and conduct is formed. By these is his lifestyle and character established and set in place. By these shall all other men come to know him as he is. By these will all other men respond or react to him, depending of course, on their own natures. There is an old saying that “Birds of feather flock together”. People of like natures blend together for mutual support, encouragement, and comfort, responding to each others nature even when, and possibly because of their natures are of evil works, [Romans 1:32], “Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them”. People of different natures and philosophies have a strong tendency to shy away from each other for lack of things in common which would bind them together. There is an essential part of the “Divine Nature”, [2 Peter 1:4], a Biblical condition known and taught as “unity”, that even though it is absolutely necessary to the development, strength, and stability of a church body, is not sought for and esteemed as such, and counsel to its attainment mostly neglected. [Psalms 133: 1], “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity”! Consequently, we have fragmented denominations and churches within those denominations that are blight on the whole body of Christ, including the community where they are located. These “whited sepulchers” may appear beautiful

from without, but they have no Biblical, Holy Spirit substance and production from within. [Psalms 127: 1], “Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain”. You can build exquisite sanctuaries and temples, and all manner of places of worship if you have the financial means to do so, but it takes the hand of the Lord to build substance of worship from the heart, mind, soul, and spirit. If you don’t have this in pleasure, honor, and worship unto the Lord, all your efforts are only exhaustive exercises of futility: As William Shakespeare put it, “Tis as a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury and signifying nothing”. [Hebrews 6: 9], “But beloved, we are persuaded “better things” of you, and “things” that accompany salvation: of these “better things”, the essentials of life; we encourage and thus speak”. These “better things” are reiterated in [John 8: 29], “And he that sent me is always with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him”. Once again they are referred to in [Romans 14:19], “Let us therefore follow after the things that make for peace, and the things wherewith one may edify another”. Some religious philosophies edify and seek the good and wellbeing of others. Some seek the destruction and annihilation of others, some with a Biblical orientated gospel message of good news of life and life more abundantly. Philosophy, opinions, and beliefs seem to make the whole difference. God has provided His for our consideration and direction of life, but man seems to think he is intelligent enough to create his own, much to his proven demise and dismay. Our world is suffering its present degraded condition because of this “Clash of Philosophies”, mans, in its many and varying forms; versus God’s, which is and remains the same throughout the ages past and ages to come.

DAVE SAYS

Determining when to Sell Dear Dave, I make $60,000 a year, and I have two cars. One is paid for, and I owe $23,000 on the other. These are my only vehicles. I’d like to sell the one I still owe money on, but no one wants to pay that much. I have enough money in savings to cover the difference on one of the offers, but I was wondering if there’s a rule of thumb to determine whether to sell a car in this kind of situation? -Josh Josh, Here’s how I look at it. If you really love the car, and by really focusing and saving like crazy you can pay off everything else in your life – except the

house – in 18 to 24 months, then I’m okay with keeping the car. If you can’t, it’s time to sell! It also may be time to sell if the if the total value of all your vehicles – cars, trucks, boats, jet skis, and their sisters – is equal to half, or more than half, of your annual income. These are things that depreciate like crazy. You don’t want half of your income wrapped up in things that are going down in value. Josh, you can pay this thing off in two years or less if you haven’t got a bunch of other debt. But if you don’t like the car, or you don’t want to work that hard to keep it, then sell the thing and write a check for the difference. Then re-build your savings in a hurry by putting what would have gone for car payments into your bank account! - Dave

Survival Mode Dear Dave, My husband and I both lost our jobs over a month ago. I've been interviewing, and he started a two-week training program for a new job the other day, but right now we're in survival mode. We just cashed in an annuity, and were wondering if we should pay down debt and reduce the money going out each month, or just live on it? -Veronica Dear Veronica, I'd sit on the money for now. It's raining, and you need an umbrella. Don't misunderstand me. You need to be honorable and pay your debts, but you may have to put that on hold for a while. Right now, it's more important to keep food in the house and keep the heat on. Make sure you hug on each other a

lot, too. This kind of situation is scary, and can be very stressful. It's been a rough winter for you guys, but it sounds to me like you're seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. The great news is that the light isn't an oncoming train! Your husband is about to start making money again, and it sounds like you've got some possibilities. Through this stretch, honest communication can make a huge difference. Make sure your creditors know what's happening. Let them know that you want to make things right, and that you will make things right as soon as you can. God bless! - Dave

They're Always Watching "The Proposal" and Listening By Darrel Gulstrom

by Os Hillman

"About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them" (Acts 16:25-26). It didn't take long for non-believers to realize I was different in the secular workplaces where I've worked. I didn't participate in the jokes, the dirty language,or criticism of management. I didn't judge them for their behavior because they were merely acting the way they should act as one who does not have Christ in their life. I viewed them as prisoners awaiting their salvation and that I might be the instrument to lead them to my Savior. I would often be known as the "religious guy." It wasn't because I was particularly vocal or I tried to separate myself; it happened naturally. The Christ in me naturally made me stand out. Jesus called us to be the "salt and light" of any life situation. The secular workplace economy is contrary to the Kingdom of God economy so we should naturally stand out in any situation.

When Paul and Silas were in prison their lifestyle of worship and prayer in the midst of the horrible conditions of a dirty prison stood out in stark contrast to their circumstances. They didn't pray and sing to impress their cellmates, they simply did what was natural to them. Still, "the other prisoners were watching and listening." No matter where you are, others are watching you to determine if your faith is real or if you're an imposter. The world is looking to discredit your faith. You are a witness always whether you choose to be or not. "The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He then brought them out and asked, 'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?'" (Acts 16:29-30). When you begin to reflect the love and power of Christ in your life you won't have to have an evangelism program to win others into the Kingdom. It will be a fruit of your life. The "fish" will actually jump into the boat! Beware how you conduct your life today. Because the prisoners are watching and listening. marketplaceleaders.org

Growing Business People of Leadership and Influence "All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men (Christians) to do nothing" Edmund Burke, British Statesmen The Christian Chamber of Commerce of the Northwest tops 150 members in their first year. Charly Kenyon, Executive Director is not suprised with our growth over the past year, with God as our CEO, how could we go wrong! The Christian Chamber is now holding 8 meetings a month in Salem and the Greater Portland area; Tigard, Clackamas, Newberg and Albany well as in Vancouver, Washington. Plans are in place to start a chapter in the Seattle/Tacoma area in the fall. During this last generation, Christians around the world have tragically yielded their places of influence and leadership to a secular world. We have no one to blame but ourselves for the failure to retain and grow Christ-centered impact in the major realms of our culture: Family, Religion, Business, Government, Education, Media and Arts/Entertainment/Sports. One of the cornerstones of the Chamber is to provide world class educational opportunities to our members to help make an impact in the marketplace and the world. We also believe each member needs to discover their calling to impact the marketplace in

their careers with leadership and influence. This is why the Christian Chamber of Commerce is honored to present a very special two day engagement with Dr. Lance Wallnau. When a company falls on difficult times, one of the things that seem to happen is they reduce their staff and workers. The remaining workers need to find ways to continue to do a good job or risk that their job would be eliminated as well. Wall street, and the media normally congratulate the CEO for making this type of "tough decision", and his board of directors gives him a big bonus. Our government should not be immune from similar risks. Therefore: Reduce the House of Representatives from the current 435 members to 218 members and Senate members from 100 to 50 (one per State). Also reduce remaining staff by 25%. Accomplish this over the next 8 years. (two steps / two elections) and of course this would require some redistricting. Some Yearly Monetary Gains Include: $44,108,400 for elimination of base pay for congress. (267 members X $165,200 pay/ member/yr.) $97,175,000 for elimination of the above people's staff. (estimate $1.3 Million in staff per each member of the House, and $3 Million in staff per each member of the Senate every year) $240,294 for the reduction in remaining staff by 25%. $7,500,000,000 reduction in pork barrel ear- mark s each year. (those members whose jobs are gone. Current estimates for total government pork ear mark s are at $15 Billion /yr) The remaining representatives would need to work smarter and would need to improve efficiencies. It might even be in their best interests to work together for the good of our country? We may also expect that smaller committees might lead to a more efficient resolution of issues as well. It might even be easier to keep track of what your Representative is

doing. Congress has more tools available to do their jobs than it had back in 1911 when the current number of representatives was established. (telephone, computers, cell phones to name a few) Note: Congress did not hesitate to head home when it was a holiday, when the nation needed a real fix to the economic problems. Also, we have 3 senators that have not been doing their jobs for the past 18+ months (on the campaign trail) and still they all have been accepting full pay. These facts alone support a reduction in Senators & Congress. Summary of opportunity: $ 44,108,400 reduction of Congress members. $282,100, 000 for elimination of the reduced House member staff. $150,000,000 for elimination of reduced Senate member staff. $59,675,000 for 25% reduction of staff for remaining House members. $37,500,000 for 25% reduction of staff for remaining Senate members. $7,500,000,000 reduction in pork added to bills by the reduction of Congress members. $8,073,383,400 per year, estimated total savings. (that's 8-BILLION just to start!) Big business does these types of cuts all the time. If Congresspersons were required to serve 20, 25 or 30 years (like everyone else) in order to collect retirement benefits there is no telling how much we would save. Now they get full retirement after serving only ONE term. IF you are happy how the Congress spends our taxes, then just rip out this article. IF you are NOT at all happy, then I assume you know what to do.

Christian Car Guy The Light in a Christians Rear View Mirror is Closer Than It Appears! It’s been quite a ride lately in the auto world as the uncertainty and pain in the economy produces fear and stress for many people. Auto makers like Chrysler and GM continue to submit their “turn around” plans which include a loss of another 50,000 jobs and a possible need for an additional 21 Billion dollars,..hard to get you mind around that number. GM may quit on Saturn and Hummer,

they do bail on Saab, and Saab files for bankruptcy. Here’s the good news Brothers and Sisters; the darker it gets the brighter you can let your light shine. As believers that “this world as we know it is not our home” we get to express our hope and light to those around us no matter where we are – even when we are driving. The light in our mirrors is closer than it appears. Make sure the light people see in you is the life of the one that saves you everyday: Jesus/Yahshua the Messiah and King of Life and Light.

Action Alert!

Subject: Religious Hiring Rights Alert: If you are concerned about keeping the right to discriminate in your hiring based upon religious preference then preventative action is needed now. We have learned that IN the coming weeks the new administration may take action on this critical issue. At stake is your ability to operate under a federal and/ or state grant or contract and keep your right to hire people who have an appropriate religious viewpoint. For many, this is a right they do not and should not give up. Not only could this affect grants and contracts but colleges that accept federal funds. Here is what Stanley Carlson-Thies of the Center for Public Justice states about this issue: "The Obama administration is keeping the status quo on religious hiring-for now. So in most federal social services, faith groups can participate without giving up their freedom to ensure that all the staff is committed to the religious mission and standards. If religious staffing is banned in every service government money supports, as candidate Obama and many in his administration and Congress demand, then faith groups will have to choose between a religious staff and federal dollars." It is important for you to make your concern known to your congressperson in advance of any action by the administration. To learn more, we recommend the article by the Center for Public Justice: http://www.compassionbydesign.org/ dwigt/link.php?M=2947&N=94&L=99 We strongly encourage you to alert your

Congressman AND Senator now that you are concerned about keeping your religious hiring rights as a faith based community service provider. By telling them now you can help retain these rights and have a positive influence on any presidential actions that may occur in the coming weeks. Quick way to write to your Congressman: http://www.compassionbydesign.org/ dwigt/link.php?M=2947&N=94&L=100 Quick way to write to your Senator: http://www.compassionbydesign.org/ dwigt/link.php?M=2947&N=94&L=101 The text of your note to them could contain something like... Dear TITLE ______________. I appreciate the work that you are doing to serve our nation in the Capital. As a constituent of your district, I want to alert you that I believe that the retention of religious hiring rights by faith based providers under federal funding is an important freedom that must be safeguarded. Please ensure that all federal grants and contracts allow my organization to hire based upon our strongly held religious beliefs. While we do not discriminate based on other grounds, the right to hire people who hold appropriate religious beliefs is an key part of the way that we approach community service. Please alert me if this right is endangered by any pending legislation or administrative action.

Ask Tyson Oregon Tax Credits.

Do they make sense for your business?

By: Tyson Pruett

Within every situation, economy, and season there are positives and negatives. Taxes are no exception to this principle. You need keep an eye out for the opportunities and take advantage of them when you can. It is our goal to bring opportunities to your attention when they present themselves. One of these golden opportunities is the ability for you to purchase Oregon income tax credits. So what am I talking about? Let me try to put this into everyday language. You can purchase tax credits through the State of Oregon that allow you to pay less Oregon income tax when you file your taxes. Let me put this into numbers for you. We recently looked at a program for a client where they could purchase $365,000 worth of Oregon tax credits for $244,550. That’s right; they would pay $244,550 and reduced their Oregon income tax by $365,000! How does this work you ask? The client would write a check for $244,550 today. Each of the next 5 years, they would receive a tax credit that was a dollar for dollar reduction of their Oregon taxes in the amount of $73,000. Over the five years of the program, they would have saved $120,450 in tax. Before you get too excited about this be-

ing a tax break for the rich, let me explain briefly how it works. The Pass-through Option now allows non-profit organizations, schools, governmental agencies, tribes, other public entities and businesses without tax liability to use the Business Energy Tax Credit by transferring their tax credit for an eligible project to a partner with a tax liability. For example, the North Santiam School District upgraded the lights and heating systems in their schools to be more energy efficient and was eligible for an Oregon Business Energy Tax Credit. Since they are not a tax paying entity, they sold the credit to a partner and used the money raised to help offset the cost of the needed improvements. This became a win-win situation for both parties. While we understand that programs like this may not fit everybody, this is an example of the tax savings strategies we seek out for our clients on a regular basis. If you are not our client- give us a chance to review your past tax returns and current situation and I will give you my time for free if we cannot add value. The worst case scenario is that you leave with assurance that you are in good hands and everything that can be done to make you profitable is being done.

"Since the passage of California's Proposition 8 [which defines marriage as being between one man and one woman], protesting crowds in the tens of thousands have flooded the streets," reports Newsweek, "and the producers of Milk aren't shy about calling the film about the assassinated gay activist a celluloid rallying cry." That means Harvey Milk himself would've been proud. This movie, like the man, is brash, charismatic, unapologetic and uncompromising. It's not about making friends. It's about drawing lines. If you agree with Harvey, Milk tells us, you're A-OK. If you don't, you're a bigot. "[Distribution company] Focus [Features] plans on selling Milk in part as a story of hope and change ... just as it sold Brokeback [Mountain] as a love story," reports The Hollywood Reporter. But the paper's website isn't so sure that's fair. "The ploy was logical with Brokeback," Steven Zeitchik writes. "It's less so here. Like Brokeback, Milk features a gay romance. But unlike Brokeback, Milk is made by gay filmmakers, features

the polarizing [Sean] Penn and puts itself squarely in a political context." So, with those lines so visibly drawn, there's little need to spend more time defining them. Instead, I want to draw attention to something standing just to the side of the homosexual skirmish—the issue of promiscuity. The fact that these men hook up with each other before they even know each other's names. The fact that Harvey comforts one of his friends by saying that he'll eventually sleep with so many men that "you won't know until the end of your life which ones were your greatest lovers and which ones were your greatest friends." The fact that sex is degraded from sacred unity between a husband and wife to spare-moment pastime shared by strangers. The fact that in Milk, it's pretty much assumed there's no escape from giving in to the impulse to fulfill needs of the spirit with desires of the flesh. In a sentence or two, Milk presents hurting people thrashing about for peace and acceptance. And it suggests that God and His people are the source of their pain.

Sincerely

MILK : Continued From Pg 6 ances. And there's a brief, faraway shot of a bare-breasted woman. Characters regularly call themselves "queens." Dan White refers to homosexuals as "queers." Comments are made about bathhouses and getting paid to do "tricks." Men ogle each other and crack lewd jokes. The assassination scene shows the first bullet hitting Harvey in the hand; skin flies on impact. The next two thud into each of his shoulders. Harvey finds himself kneeling on the floor, staring out the window as Dan White administers a final, unseen bullet to the back of his head. Dan White also kills San Francisco's mayor, but the murder takes place behind closed doors, the gunshots muffled. Before all of that, Harvey receives two death threats—one of them graphically illustrated. Jack hangs himself. (We see the dangling corpse.) And Harvey mentions that of his four long-term partners, three have tried to commit suicide. Men tussle with police. Protesters march on city hall, disconnecting power and disabling a cable car. A character reminisces

about gay activists rioting in Spain, saying, "There was blood literally running in the gutter." About 15 f-words and a half-dozen or more s-words. God's name is misused at least a dozen times. Three or four times it's paired with "d--n." Milder profanities include "a--" and "h---." Crude slang is assigned to male anatomy. While smoking something, Scott mentions that he spent his last unemployment check on an ounce of pot. Harvey says that he's giving up marijuana. Scott and Harvey drink wine while in bed together. Others drink whiskey and beer, and Dan White shows up at Harvey's birthday party drunk, still swigging a beer. Jack shows up at Harvey's camera shop falling down drunk. One of Harvey's most popular acts as a city supervisor is a law requiring dog owners to clean up their pets' feces. The film spends some time showing how Harvey orchestrates a press conference on the issue, a production that features him stepping in poo. In another scene, a character disdainfully wipes his hand after shaking Harvey's.

viewpoint viewpoint “TIME IS THE ALLY OF DECEIT” Book & CD review by Don Wyant, Jr.

by Richard Rives Today Contemporary Christianity has not only allowed truth to fall, but it has thrown truth in the street as a gesture of religious tolerance and compromise. It has given the adversaries of scripture exactly what they need to substantiate their claims that what most present as Christianity is nothing more than redefined pagan mythology. Educated theologians know that; yet they continue to present a compromised gospel filled with pagan tradition that never had anything to do with Christ. There has never been a more important time in the history of mankind for those called out as servants of our Creator to confront the philosophy and vain deceit that would lead people away from our Savior. We are living in extraordinary times. Today, just as in the days of Isaiah, truth is fallen in the street; and judgment is turned away backward. On every front the truths of scripture are arrogantly disparaged while the wisdom of man is exalted and received as authoritative, and without question. PBS television recently aired a program entitled "The Bible’s Buried Secrets" in which Moses and the Exodus are portrayed

as mythological accounts. According to the "experts" that were interviewed, God and "his wife" were actually renamed pagan deities - a Canaanite god and goddess. With the assistance of our own tax dollars, that is what is being presented. Internet sites and online video presentations deny the reality of Jesus/Yahshua, the Messiah of Israel. They provide carefully selected excerpts from mythological accounts that cause many steadfast believers to question their long held faith in Christ. 53% of Americans believe that good works can earn a place in Heaven? 68% of “Evangelical Protestant Christians” believe that people of any faith can attain salvation on their own? How can this have happened? There is one very good answer: Time is the Ally of Deceit. Over time, after having been bombarded with lies, people have been persuaded that Biblical precepts are subject to the interpretation of scholars. Too often, Pastors rely on scholars – Christians rely on Pastors. Educated theologians are fully aware of that fact; yet they continue to present a com-

promised gospel filled with pagan tradition that never had anything to do with Christ. There has never been a more important time in the history of mankind for those called out as servants of our Creator to confront the philosophy and vain deceit that would lead people away from our Savior. We must not stand idly by and allow this to happen on our watch. There is irrefutable evidence that documents the influence of pagan religions upon what is now recognized as Christianity. For those seeking truth, this Study Series provides solid, verifiable facts, without exaggeration. For those who are familiar with the religious syncretism that has taken place in much of what is currently taught as doctrine in many churches. This Series is an excellent source of extremely interesting historical facts that can be used in sharing the truth with others, in a non-offensive manner. The DVDs contain beautiful scenery and what most would consider non-Biblical history, that will interest even those who would normally avoid such a study as individuals or as groups.

For the past two thousand years our "adversary the devil" has been doing everything possible to pervert the truths regarding our Savior and His commandments. As King Solomon once wrote, There is nothing new under the sun. Just as in the Garden of Eden, our "adversary" questions: Hath God said? Truly, Time is the Ally of Deceit; and time is truly of the essence. Today, no matter how we might view the timing of prophetic events, now is the time in which we have been given the opportunity to share the truth with others. While there are countless numbers preaching another gospel, there are only a "few" of us who will stand for the truth about the whole counsel of our God Yahweh. In an effort to earnestly contend for the faith once delivered to the saints, Richard Rives has just completed a new book and a 5 DVD Study Series entitled "Time is the Ally of Deceit." The DVDs follow the chapters of the book. Every Christian should buy and study these timely and accurate resources as soon as possible. The DVD’s and book can be found at www.toolonginthesun.com. For the past two years, Prayer Force One has hosted a virtual White House prayer meeting in the various rooms of The White House by linking directly to The White House web site. Former President Bush wrote Prayer Force One and thanked them for the prayers for our nation. However, at the stroke of 12:00 noon on Inauguration Day, January 20th, the new Obama White House web site went live with the effect of cutting off the daily White House prayer meeting. Thousands of faithful prayer warriors concerned about the future of our country logged on and saw this post from The White House: Due to these events, Prayer Force On received a deluge of e-mails expressing concern about the future of this much needed and beloved White House Prayer Meeting. A SAMPLING OF LETTERS REGARDING WHITE HOUSE PRAYER: Subject: Site taken over by Obama! I forwarded the message from you for prayer in the White House to my praying friends. When I visited this morning, I was unable to go to the room ... I thought due to heavy traffic! Little did I know it was because it was being overhauled by President Obama’s team! Bioethics" is a term coined nearly 30 years ago to describe the process of examining the ethics involved with emerging medical technologies and biological research. Bioethics is interdisciplinary, bringing together medicine, law, philosophy and public policy. Bioethics covers a wide range of topics, including abortion, reproductive technologies, genetic intervention, stem cell research, physician-assisted suicide and end-of-life medical decisions. Practically speaking, bioethics often touches us where we hurt the most: in illness, infertility and unexpected medical (and sometimes moral) difficulties. For Christians, bioethics is also an attempt to know what the Bible says about these issues and how God would have us respond. With the new challenges being put in place to Biblical authority by the Obama Administration and a Democrat controlled Congress, it is more important than ever that we are vocal about our beliefs and that we know what we are talking about from a Scriptural standpoint. Obama Team Preempts White House Prayer Meeting!

3. We are now exploring options that will allow us to enjoy the continued unity that we experienced during our prayer time together in The White House. These options will certainly include a letter to President Obama. Other options will be to continue our virtual prayer meeting in other meaningful “virtual” locations. In order to do this, it might mean that we have to develop our own “i-pix style” camera to prepare for such prayer meetings. If this happens, we could pray anywhere in America - from the U.S. Capitol rotunda to the Grand Canyon! Expense would be the major challenge in doing this. 4. We will never, never quit in our pursuit of promoting unity in prayer for our nation! We will leave no innovative stone unturned in exploring ways that we can continue these national, virtual, unifying, Prayer Force One prayer meetings in the days ahead. Perhaps you yourself have an idea that could be implemented. If so, write us today. 5. In the near future we will be presenting our plan for encouraging the formation of independent Prayer Force One, “Prayer Wings” in churches and homes all across America. (Our newly adapted PF-1, Prayer Wings emblem is pictured below.) In the meantime, please stay tuned and plugged in to our web site as we, together, seek Gods will for the future. N.B. from Tennessee So glad to pray for our country and our elected officials together with those who care. Today I tried to go in the room you said to click on and I got a letter stating I couldn’t because President elect Obama had made a new White House website. Do you know anything about this, and will I be able to go on the rooms tour at another time? Blessings, J.L. from Pennsylvania PRAYER FORCE ONE RESPONDS: 1. There is no sure way of knowing what motivated the Obama White House to discontinue the beautiful interactive video tours of the various rooms of the Executive Mansion. Their removal will be a tragic loss to the American people. The only thing that we can say for sure is that, for now, their removal spells the end of our daily Prayer Force One, White House Prayer Meeting. Please know that my heart, like many of yours, is greatly saddened by this turn of events. 2. We are indeed thankful to President Bush for his letter thanking us for our prayer efforts in the past. Because of the courtesy of the Bush White House, we were able to grow a national prayer meeting which many tens of thousands have come to love and enjoy. Again, thank you President Bush!

rooths of our faithour faith roots of God's Bail Out Plan? The Truth about the Rapture By Daniel Rendelman ravemet@comcast.net

The sign outside a local church reads “God’s Bailout Plan is the Rapture.” This statement is eye catching but is it Biblical? To find the truth of this subject, simply do a Bible search for the word “rapture.” Flip through the entire Bible and look for that word. No luck? This term just can’t be found in the Scriptures. It isn’t in the Bible. Anywhere. The idea of Christians being suddenly taken to heaven comes from preachers who misinterpret the timing of 1 Thessalonians - “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words,” 4:16, 17. Today, this popular doctrine asserts that the saints will suddenly disappear at the beginning of a seven-year period of Tribulation. The time of the anti-Christ will then begin, until the visible Second Coming of the Savior. This theology is fairly new when compared to the major tenets of the Christian faith. The Messiah, the Apostles, and the early church fathers did not teach a pre-tribulation catching away of the saints. Proverbs 10:30. “The righteous shall never be removed: the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.” In fact, the idea of a bailout before the bad times first surfaced around the 1830’s. It was then that a thirteen-year old Catholic girl had a vision that those baptized in the Spirit would be raptured before the antichrist came to power. She also saw that a second group of believers would be raptured at the end of the tribulation. About the same time, a book was written by John Darby about the Savior coming first to rapture His church and then, again

to defeat the anti-Christ. Bible publisher C.I. Scofield heavily promoted these ideas in his study Bible and the church hasn’t looked back since. From movies to TV preachers and church signs, many are convinced of the pre-tribulation rapture. Too bad the Christian Savior didn’t teach such an idea. Matthew 13:49, “So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just." This correlates exactly of how the righteous remained on the earth while the wicked were destroyed by Noah’s flood. “People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. "It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. 29 But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man returns,” Luke 17:27-30. The Messiah indicates that the second coming occurs after the events of the Great Tribulation in Matthew 24 and elsewhere in the Scriptures. The Bible does not teach a pre-tribulation catching away where unbelievers are “left behind.” Man teaches this idea. Don’t get caught up in this false hope. Strengthen your faith for whatever the future holds. “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; for I have overcome the world,” John 16:33. Why keeping God’s law matters! Adoption and Antinomianism

Once a person is saved, he no longer needs concern himself with the law. Since he has been forgiven and justified, he no longer needs worry about sin — right? Orthodox Christianity has always replied, “wrong!” But why is that? If we are indeed freed from the law, what part does obedience play in our lives? Many have found it hard to see what claim the law can have on the Christian. We are free from the law, they say; oursalvation does not depend on law-keeping; we are justified through the blood and righteousness of Jesus Christ. How, then, can it matter, or make any difference to anything, whether we keep the law henceforth or not? And since justification means the pardon of all sin, past, present and future, and complete acceptance for all eternity, why should we be concerned whether we sin or not? Why should we think God is concerned? Does it not show an imperfect grasp of justification when a Christian makes an issue of his daily sins, and spends time mourning over them and seeking forgiveness for them? Is not a refusal to look to the law for instruction, or to be concerned about one’s daily shortcomings, part of the true boldness of justifying faith? The Puritans had to face these “antinomian” ideas, and sometimes made heavy weather of answering them. If one allows it to be assumed that justification is the be-all and end-all of the gift of salvation, one will always make heavy weather of answering such arguments. The truth is that these ideas must be answered in terms not of justification but of adoption—a reality which the Puritans never highlighted quite enough*. Once the distinction is drawn between these two elements in the gift of salvation, the correct reply becomes plain. What is that reply? It is this: that, while it is certainly true that jus¬tification frees one forever from the need to keep the law, or try to, as means of earning life, it is equally true that adoption lays on one the abiding obliga-

tion to keep the law, as the means of pleasing one's newfound father. Law-keeping is the family likeness of God’s children; Jesus fulfilled all righteousness, and God calls us to do likewise. Adoption puts law-keeping on a new footing: as children of God, we acknowledge the law's authority as a rule for our lives, because we know that this is what our Father wants. If we sin, we confess our fault and ask our Father’s forgiveness on the basis of the family relationship, as Jesus taught us to do—“Father . . . forgive us our sins” (Lk 11:2, 4). The sins of God’s children do not destroy their justification or nullify their adoption, but they mar the children’s fellowship with their Father. “Be holy, for I am holy” is our Father’s word to us, and it is no part of justifying faith to lose sight of the fact that God, the King, wants his royal children to live lives worthy of their paternity and position. —J. I. Packer, Knowing God (InterVarsity Press, 1993), 222–223 From The Thirsty Theologian: Posted by J and J Bible Ministry on www.reformata.org Only recently have most Christians rebelled from the concept that actually keeping God’s written laws really does matter. After all, the “law is written on our hearts, right?” So who needs all those “Old” Testament restrictions and rules – nobody can keep them anyway.” Really? Did our Father only give us instructions in order to see us fail so that He could stand back and say ‘I told you so’? It’s time we reexamine our beliefs and the fact that most Christianity as we know it doesn’t work or bring honor to Yahweh. We need the loving instructions given to us in the law, the Torah. It acts as a place of safety for us as children of the adoption. Editor note. dw To comment on this article: don@thejctown.com

national & andworld world news national Calif. professor to student: College basketball player booted for not being a lesbian "Ask God what your grade is" LOS ANGELES — Attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund Center for Academic Freedom filed a lawsuit against officials of the Los Angeles Community College District Wednesday. The lawsuit comes after a professor censored and threatened to expel a student following a speech about marriage and his Christian faith during an open-ended assignment in a public speaking class. "Christian students shouldn't be penalized or discriminated against for speaking about their beliefs," said ADF Senior Counsel David French. "Public institutions of higher learning cannot selectively censor Christian speech. This student was speaking well within the confines of his professor's assignment when he was censored and ultimately threatened with expulsion." On Nov. 24, 2008, Los Angeles City College speech professor John Matteson interrupted and ended Jonathan Lopez's presentation mid-speech, calling him a "fascist bastard" in front of the class for speaking about his faith, which included reading the dictionary definition of marriage and reciting two Bible verses. Instead of allowing Lopez to finish, Matteson told the other students they could leave if they were offended. When no one left, Matteson dismissed the

class. Refusing to grade the assigned speech, Matteson wrote on Lopez's evaluation, "Ask God what your grade is." One week later, after seeing Lopez talking to the college's dean of academic affairs, Matteson told Lopez that he would make sure he'd be expelled from school. Matteson's treatment of Lopez during his speech follows an earlier incident in which Matteson told his entire class after the November election, "If you voted yes on Proposition 8, you are a fascist bastard." "Professor Matteson clearly violated Mr. Lopez's free speech rights by engaging in viewpoint discrimination and retaliation because he disagreed with the student's religious beliefs," said French. "When students are given open-ended assignments in a public speaking class, the First Amendment protects their ability to express their views. Moreover, the district has a speech code that has created a culture of censorship on campus. America's public universities and colleges are supposed to be a 'marketplace of ideas,' not a hotbed of intolerance." ADF-allied attorney Sam Kim and attorney Michael Parker of the Buena Park firm Sam Kim and Associates, APC, are serving as local counsel in the case.

One News Now reports that Central Michigan University is being sued after one of their women's basketball players said she was kicked off the team because she was not a homosexual. “Brooke Heike was a high school basketball star who was aggressively sought after by several colleges that wanted the league MVP from Washington Township, Michigan, to continue her record-breaking rebounding and shot-blocking skills on their campus. After leading her team to its first conference title in 18 years as a high school senior, the 6-foot-2 forward decided to attend Central Michigan University, which offered her a full scholarship.” However, Heike says that new women’s basketball coach sue Guevara, a allegedly a lesbian, discriminated against her in 2007 and that she was kicked off the team over time. She claims the took issue with her heterosexuality. Worse yet, Heike lost her scholarship to school because the coach kept telling her that she “wasn't her type”, attorney Cindy Rhodes Victor explains. "And when Brooke would ask what was that, [Guevara] would say 'I don't want you to wear makeup, you have a boyfriend, I don't want you to have a

boyfriend...you're too girly girl' -- that type of thing." Heike was known to be an excellent basketball player and she was well liked by her teammates but still Heike's coach still would not assist Heike with her training and she ended up having to hire independent trainers to help her. According to Heike's attorney, cancellation of elementary education major's scholarship came as a surprise. "She wasn't even told ever that her scholarship was in jeopardy or that her position was in jeopardy," says Victor. "Out of the blue she gets a letter from the financial aid office that says your scholarship's gone." According to one of Heike’s teammates who talked to the basketball star, "the coach announced yesterday that you were off the team because you're not happy." Representatives for Central Michigan to answer any questions but according to the OneNewsNow report, issued a statement saying they are familiar with the allegations and that they will defend their position in court. According to files from the coaches previous school, she was fired in 2003 after team members at that school accused Sue Guevara of similar actions.

Rapture: Continued from page 21 mark of the beast or face persecution. There will be many Saints who refuse the mark and therefore are murdered. “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection,” Revelation 20:4-5. According to this passage, the rapture does not and can not take place before the mark of the beast! The Savior clearly states when He will return in regards to the rise of the anti-Christ and the time of Jacob’s trouble. “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory,” Mathew 24:29-30. Customized Religion By a 3 to 1 margin (71% to 26%), Americans are more likely to develop their own set of religious beliefs than accept a comprehensive set of beliefs taught by a church or denomination, finds a Barna study. George Barna observes a growing number of people are serving as their own "theologian-in-residence," resulting in Americans embracing an "unpredictable and contradictory body of beliefs." Leading the pack are those under age 25. 82% of them develop their own blend of beliefs rather than adopt a set offered by a church. Although born-again Christians are the least likely to adopt an a la carte approach, 61% say they have mixed their set of beliefs. (Barna Update 1/12/09
