DR. CHRISTINE KOZACHUK From a 13-year-old pregnant girl to an entrepreneur and a world leader Dr. Christine Kozachuk is genuinely a life literacy expert.Dr. Kozachuk’s journey started in a rural impoverished coal-mining town in West Virginia. At the age of thirteen, she became pregnant with her first son, married his father, and had two more children with him by the time she was eighteen. Through the marriage, she was abused physically, mentally, and emotionally. After the birth of their third son, she had finally had enough of the abuse and left. When she left, they just had the clothes on their backs, no transportation, no education, no money, and no plan as to how they would survive. This is where her determination and survival skills kicked in. The first thing Dr. Kozachuk did was move to another state; she went back to school and earned her GED to better her and her children’s lives. This is also where she met her husband of twenty-six years. What she knew is she may not have the best of an education, but with her determination to self-teach herself, she will create the life she and her family deserved. Dr. Kozachuk states, “this is the reason my home is filled with educational workbooks, from typing to how to start and run a business. Her philosophy has always been you don’t have to have lots of money to do what you want in life. It may take you longer, but you will figure out how to accomplish your goal dreams through education with the desire and will power to want more.
