For 2025, our 4th grade quilt has been thoughtfully crafted in honor of Dock Superintendent Dr. Conrad Swartzentruber as he celebrates his final year with us. After 16 years of dedicated service to the Dock community, Dr. Swartzentruber is preparing to retire—and we couldn’t let the moment pass without a heartfelt tribute.
Throughout his time at Dock, Dr. Swartzentruber made a lasting impression on our EC8 students, especially through his hands-on involvement in science units. Many students fondly remember him for bringing science to life by guiding classes through the experience of hatching eggs and watching chicks emerge with the help of classroom incubators.
We’re also deeply grateful to Dr. Swartzentruber’s wife, Mrs. Sharon Swartzentruber, who graciously led this year’s 4th grade quilt committee. Her leadership and enthusiasm helped turn this meaningful project into a beautiful reality.
Be sure to give “eggs-tra” thanks to Dr. Swartzentruber when you see him at school—or at the Dock Country Fair & Auction on Friday, May 16, 2025!
A heartfelt thank you to all the helping hands who supported our 4th grade students in creating this beautiful quilt for the 2025 Live Auction. We’re especially grateful to Mrs. Sharon Swartzentruber for her inspiring vision and leadership in bringing this special project to life!
Our new superintendent, Dr. Jason Moyer, was thrilled to witness the creativity of our quilters in action as they worked on this remarkable 4th Grade Quilt for 2025. This quilt not only showcases the exceptional artistic flair of our 4th grade students, but also symbolizes a tapestry of community spirit and collaboration.
