4-H Beef Club 2023 Steer Sale Saturday June 10 @ 5:00 pm Chopper K Auction Mart- Alameda

Once again we are gearing up for our Achievment Day. We would like to tell you a bit about our club and what it means to have you purchase a steer from the Alameda Club. Over the past years many of you have been great supporters of our club and we hope that this will continue.

We have a very active group of young people from the communities of Alameda, Oxbow, Carlyle, Lampman, Frobisher & Storthoaks. We would also like to point out that many of the business people, famers, and leaders in our community are former 4-H memebrs.

The cost of purchasing a steer varies according to size and weight of the animal. Money generated from the sale of the 4-H steers is used by the member: to finance education, to purchase land or cattle, to provide cash for various necessities as needed by all young people.

Advantages, to you, the buyer include, the expense is tax deductible, the quality of beef is highly recommended for table use, the advertising dollars spent stays in the community generating more local sales, the goodwill generated by the support of 4-H club continues year round.

Terms:

*Cash, cheque or e-transfer for forms of payment. Settlement must be made with the clerk at the conclusion of the sale.

*If you are unable to attend the sale, the sale will also be broadcasted online on DLMS. This is a different online platform then last year. If you have any questions or need any assistance, Please give us a call. Phone in or leave instructions to the club leader, sale staff or a representative of your choice .

*Steers may be resold through the Auction Mart at a later date, if you do not have a need for the beef, handling arrangements must be made.

We would like to invite you to our Achievment Day Friday June 9th at the Alameda Fair Grounds. The Regional Show is Saturday June 10th & Sunday June 11th.

The Regional Steer Sale will be held on Saturday June 10 @ 5:00 pm. at the Alameda Auction Mart. Sale conducted by Chopper K Auction Services.

1. Leighton Freitag & Steve

Hello my name is Leighton Freitag. I am 11 years old and in my third year of 4-H. I am the daughter of Greg & Sentura Freitag. Best part of 4-H is Achievmeent Day and Regional show. I love being with my friends and showing my steer. The money I receive from selling my steer Steve will go in my savings for my university education.

2. Addison Hammermeister & Chip

I’m Addison Hammermeister I am 16 years old and I’m in grade 10 at Oxbow Prairie Horizons School ! I have been with the Alameda 4-H beef club for 9 years ! I’m the treasurer of my club. I live west of Alameda on a farm with my parents Jason and Jennifer Hammermeister and two brothers Austin and Anden !

My steer Chip is a Simmental / Hereford cross. Chip is thick and has good depth in his body. Chip enjoys being groomed and getting baths ! We are gearing up for show day! See you there!

3. Brynn Chapman & Doug

I am Brynn Chapman and this is my 6th year in beef 4-H. I am 12 years old and my parents are Jamie and Charlene Chapman. My steer’s name is Doug and he should weigh 1200lbs come sale day.

4. Olivia East & Clover

My name is Olivia East, and I am in my third year of 4-H. I live on a farm with my parents, sister, and a lot of different animals, including cows, horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, and lambs. I love being on the farm! There is always lots to do, and I am old enough to help my parents with a lot of the work. This year, my beef 4-H project is a homegrown steer named Clover. He is a Charolais-cross tan steer that should weigh 1100lbs by sale day. I have spent many hours feeding Clover to be sure he is finished and ready for BBQ season come June! Thanks for having a look at Clover!

5. Karlee Hull & Otis

My name is Karlee Hull and this is my 11th year in 4-H. I live on a farm right beside Alameda. My parents are Ryan & Missy Hull, we have a commercial cow herd of 160 cows. Over my 4-H years, I have built my own herd with heifers I’ve shown & I have purchased 4 others. This is my steer Otis, he is off of a Simmental x Angus cow & sired by our Wheatland Bull Vern, on April 16th he weighed 1180 lbs. Otis was born on April 7th 2022, he is gaining well & by June I’m thinking he should be over 1300 lbs. Come to the Regional Show & Sale on June 10th and get a steer to fill your freezer this summer.

6. Laura Christensen & Que

Hi, my name is Laura Christensen. I’m the daughter of Brad and Tammy Christensen, and we live on a farm NW of Lampman. I am a senior member and President of the Alameda 4-H Beef Club. This is my 11th year in 4-H and this year my steer’s name is Que. He is full of quality Simmental meat that would be great for your freezer! There is a slaughter spot ready for Que at Moose Mountain Meats in Wawota if needed. Thank you for supporting the Alameda 4-H Beef Club and the 4-H organization! It is greatly appreciated!

7. Jake Granger & Rick

My name is Jake Granger, and this is my steer Rick. Rick was born January 19 th , 2022 and is a Simmental steer. Rick weighs around 1100 pounds. Rick’s sire is Trailblazer and his Dam is 165C. This was the first steer that caught my eye in our pen of steers. Rick is a very showy steer, but also has enough power, and guts to go along with his build. Rick is wide over the top, and overall, a good complete steer. Rick will be good meat by the end of 4-H.

8. Dylan Frey & Little John

Good Day! My name is Dylan Frey and this is my 12th year in the Alameda 4-H Beef Club. My parents are Jason & Melissa Frey. We live north of Oxbow on our ranch, Freyburn Angus Farms. My Steer is Little John and he is an Angus steer weighing in at approx. 1300lbs. This guys Grade A angus marbling will be a delicious addition to your summer time BBQ’s. Hope to see you on June 10th @ 5:00 sale time. If you have any questions or need assistane, don’t hesitate to give any of our leaders a call. Little John has a slaughter spot booked the week following the sale.

Kylan Pierce & Clifford

My name is Kylan Pierce. I’m the son of Doug & Miranda Pierce. This is m 7th year in 4-H. I’m a senior member of the Alameda 4-H Beef Club. Mt Steers name this year is Clifford. He is a deep calf with a real long body with a lot to offer. I believe whoever is lucky enough to end up with him will be quite pleased. He already has a slaughter spot booked at Alameda.

10. Haley Fee & Siracha

Hello my name is Haley Fee, I am the daughter of Chris and Laura. I am 15 years old, and this will be my 4th year in the Alameda Beef 4H Club. I live in the RM of Browning No 34. I would like to introduce my steer Siracha, He is a Black Limousin and Angus cross Steer, born April 7, 2022 and is homegrown. Weighed in at 1135lbs on April 16,2023. Gave him the name Siracha because he is slightly spicy and sassy. He has lots of muscle and deep body.

11. Tristan Tober & Duke

My name is Tristan Tober. I’ve been in Alameda Beef for 7 years. I’m in grade 10 at OPHS. My market steer is a Simmental cross that I’ve named Duke. He’s a stout and soggy steer. You will get lots of steaks and roasts out of him. He will weight over 1200 pounds at sale time. We have a butcher spot ready for him in Wawota. This really nice steer will make those summer suppers amazing!

12. Hayley Rutten & Moose

My name is Hayley Rutten. I live on a farm south of Carlyle. I am 14 years old and this is my fifth year in 4-H. I go to school in Carlyle. I am in grade 9. My favorite part of 4H is working and handling my calves.

13. Corbin Lamontagne & Klondike

Hi my name is Corbin Lamontagne and this is my 6th year in 4-H. My steers name is Klondike and he weighed 930 lbs on April 11th and hopefully is 1150 on June 12th.

14. Kate Nielsen & Lewis

My name is Kate Nielsen. I am a senior member of the Alameda 4-H Beef Club. This year my steer, Lewis, is a Simmental meat wagon. I expect him to weigh 1375lbs by our achievement day. 15. Joran Frey & Robin Hood

Hey there! My name is Joran Frey. My parents are Jason & Melissa and together we run Freyburn Angus Farms. This is my 9th year with the Alameda 4-H Beef Club.

This guy here is Robin Hood. He is a Angus steer and will be Grade A yumminess for your grill this summer. He has a spot booked to be butchered the week following the sale. If you have any questions please reach out to us.

16. Dane Tober & Rebel

Hi! My name is Dane Tober. I’m in grade 6 at OPHS and this is my 5 th year being in 4H. This year I have a big, chunky steer named Rebel for sale. He’s been an easy keeper and a steady gainer, his sale day weight will be at least 1300 lbs. If you buy him, your freezer will be full, and your belly will be happy!

17. Ethan Brooks & Banjo

I am 8 years old and in my second year of 4H as a Cloverbud. I live on a farm north of Alameda. I have enjoyed working with my steer and learning how to do more jobs with the cattle on our farm. In my free time, I like to go fishing, golfing, skidooing and help out at Brooks Farms. I also play hockey and baseball. My steer’s name is Banjo.

18. Cordell Lamontagne & Diesel

Hello my name is Cordell Lamontagne and ths is my 6th year in 4-H. This is my steer Diesel. On April 16th he weighed 1175 lbs and should be very tasty come early June.

19. Reese Rutten & August

My name is Reese Rutten. I live on a farm outside of Carlyle. I am 12 years old and in grade 6. This is my fifth year in 4H. I am a Junior member.

20. Hayden Fee & Dominic

Hi my name is Hayden Fee, I am the son of Chris and Laura. I am 15 years old, and this will be my 4th year in the Alameda Beef 4-H club. I live in the RM of Browning No 34. I would like to introduce my steer Dominic, he is Limousin and Angus cross born April 15,2022 and is Homegrown. Weighed in at 1110 lbs on April 16,2023. Dominic is very sweet and likes head rubs and loves his grains first to the trough. He is thick boned and has good muscle.

21. Brooklyn East & Ketchup

I am Brooklyn East, a clover bud member in the Alameda 4-H Club. I love all things farm and baseball! If you are looking for a steer to purchase, I would like to introduce you to Ketchup! Ketchup was born on our farm in April of 2022 to my very own cow. I knew right from the start that he would be the perfect steer for my 4-H project, and his red colour made it easy to decide on a name! Ketchup will be close to 1100lbs by June, and despite his name, I don’t think you’ll need any ketchup to find him tasty! Thank you for considering Ketchup.

22. Katelyn Rutten & Doc

My name is Katelyn Rutten, and this is my 7th year in Alameda 4-H beef club. I am 15 years old and am the secretary in our club. I spend all of my spare time in the barn; showing cattle is my favorite thing to do. This year my steers name is Doc. I’ve been working with him since mid-August and he has come to be a really quiet steer. I can’t wait for you to see him at our annual show.

23. Hannah Dietze & Axel

My name is Hannah Dietze and this is my steer Axel. My parents are Nick and Kim Dietze. Axel was born and raised on our family farm. There is nothing better than hand raised farm fresh beef!

24. Kirk Rutten & Don

Hi my name is Kirk Rutten, and this is my 7th year in the Alameda 4-H beef club. I am 12 years old and enjoy hockey, baseball, spending time with my chickens and showing cattle. This year my steers name is Don; he weighed 1240 pounds in the middle of April and is gaining weight every day. I can’t wait for you to see him at our annual show.

25. Bowyn Freitag & King

Hello! My name is Bowyn Freitag but you can call me Bo! This is my third year as a Cloverbud in the Alameda 4-H Beef Club. I live on a farm just North of Alameda with my parents, Cory and Rayanne and my little sister, Aubree. I love skidooing, playing baseball and farming. This fine looking steer in the picture with me is King! He is an Angus/ Shorthorn cross and is going to make some tasty beef. I would be happy to chat with you and show you King at the 4-H Regional Show!

26. Rachel Tober & Tank

My name is Rachel Tober, this is my 6 th year with Alameda Beef 4H. I’m in Grade 9 at Martin Collegiate in Regina. My market steer, Tank, is a Simmental steer, out of one of my previous 4H heifers. He’s a pro in the showring, since I showed him as a calf at Achievement Day last year and as a yearling this year! At weigh-ins in April he was 1150 lbs and I expect him to be at least 1300 lbs by sale day. That means he’ll be ready to make all your summer BBQ dreams come true!

27. Tallynn Kitz & Kingston

My name is Tallynn Kitz, and this is my steer Kingston. I am 16 years old and this is my second year in 4-H. Kingston is the full brother to my last year’s steer and I think he is pretty cute! So far he is the calmest out of our bunch but he can still get rowdy when he wants. I’m having a really fun year so far in 4-H and can’t wait for many more memories ahead.

28. Braxton Mutton & Reddy

My name is Braxton, this is my second year in the Alameda 4-H Beef Club. My steer’s name this year is Reddy. He is a home grown charx steer. He is quiet, tanned and “Reddy” to be part of your dining experience.

29. Gunner Dietze & Chopper

My name is Gunnar Dietze and this is my steer Chopper. My parents are Nick and Kim Dietze. This may be my first year in Alameda Beef 4-H, but I have my big sister helping and teaching me how to take care of my steer. Chopper was born and raised on our farm. I am very happy with how he is gaining and filling out! You won’t want to miss out on this great steer!
