The aim of this assignment is to develop your skills and understanding in working safely, creatively with different materials, techniques, processes while pushing your technical skills while investigating approaches to manipulating photographic materials, processes, procedures and subject matter. Understanding how photographic imagery can be manipulated and challenged is central to this investigation.
AC1: INFORMING IDEAS RESEARCH/ INVESTIGATE/ ANALYSE/ DEVELOP IDEAS/ PLAN For this assignment, you should explore the potential of different materals, techniques and processes by researching artists, photographers and designers who use technology, both new and traditional, to push the boundaries of image making by exploring new ways to use materials, techniques and experiments. Research and discuss experimental imagery in photography, discussing materials, techniques and processes used by photographers and artists. Evidence your clear ideas and plans of what materials, techniques and processes you are going to experiment with. Review how the above research will help to inform your initial ideas for your shoot plan. Remember all research needs to be referenced clearly. • Produce mood boards to help visualise your ideas. • Generate ideas through creative mind maping, selecting those with the most potential for further development. • Put together a shoot plan in response to your research and ideas that will help you achieve a successful shoot. You should include any camera equipment required, along with your shooting location. Other considerations might be; props, model details, time of day, duration of shoot, etc.
