I

was encouraged by my Regional Manager at the time Mrs Claudette Dunn-Bennett, who at the time explained to me that the JCSA was an excellent organisation with many benefits to assist its members. At the time joining the JSCA was something that was said to be frowned upon by management but she hastened to point out that management were members too and some of them had received many benefits including land and housing. To be honest the land and housing benefit was the one that grabbed me even though I knew the chances were slim because the membership was big the number of houses was so few that I decided to join anyway. Over the years I made several attempts at ownership but 2020 would turn out to be my year when the Rep called from the JCSA housing company to inform me that my application for one of the 6 units in the Twickenham Glades community was successful. I was over the moon finally what seem to be the impossible was now possible on December 3, 2021, I was officially handed the keys to my new home. The feeling is still so surreal, I still can't believe that I am a homeowner. Though surreal I am extremely gratefully to the JCSA for making my childhood dream come through. ( MY JCSA DID DAT!) I have benefited in so many other ways and will continue to serve and recommend the JSCA to all potential members as the number one union in the English speaking Caribbean because to whom much is given much is expected.
