MESSAGE FROM NATIONAL UNION OF PUBLIC WORKERS (NUPW) BARBADOS The National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) congratulates the Jamaica Civil Service Association (JCSA) on the occasion of your 103rd Annual General Meeting. The NUPW is proud of your unblemished record of strong, principled and consistent representation on behalf of the public employees in Jamaica. This Union is equally proud of the relationship our two Unions have forged throughout the years on our respective journeys. Your Theme" Persistent and Consistent, Advocating for the Worker: Moving from Surviving to Thriving" signals a positive approach to the conduct of your business in this atmosphere of challenge. Captured in your Theme is recognition of your achievements; while you accept, you want more and better for your loyal members. We anticipate that deliberations around the Theme will inspire the leadership of the JCSA to focus on the continuous improvement in the terms and conditions, including improved work life balance for the Jamaican public employee. The NUPW recognises that JCSA has led the significant socio-economic, socio- political and socio-cultural changes and you are encouraged to embrace the challenges that lie ahead of you. Listed among those challenges are growing inequality in income distribution, varying forms of discrimination, unequal access to social justice and socio-economic deprivation caused by climate change. There is a lot for the JCSA to consider at your Annual General Meeting. The NUPW encourages you not to waste time as you gather to chart your never strategic course. The NUPW congratulates you and wish that you have a productive and successful Annual l General Meeting 2022. In solidarity Richard Green General Secretary
