What's new?

KG2 Entry Point Our KG2 students had their Entry Point for their new topic ‘Green Fingers’.

The students took part in making their own plant.

They discussed the tools and materials they needed, and they carefully followed the steps to plant their parsley seeds.

They also enjoyed feeling and smelling the soil and seeds!

Upcoming Events Cancer Awareness Session ISP University Fair

What happened in Hamilton Pre-KG Exit Point Our Pre-KG students had their first Exit Point for this year on their IEYC unit ‘This is Me’.

They read a story together and completed a fun activity.

They sang one of their favorite songs together and said goodbye.

G1 Exit Point Our Grade 1 students first IPC unit looked at “Who Am I.” Students were able to explore who they were, who they are, and who they could be.

Throughout this unit, they learned about regulating their emotions using the Zones of Regulation, made a variety of projects that focused on them looking at themselves in a different way, made a life-timeline, and researched future jobs.

At the Exit Point, students were showcasing their work and were able to dress up as their future self.

They really enjoyed being the adults in school today!

What happened in Hamilton G4 Exit Point Our Grade 4 students completed their first Exit Point of the year for the topic, 'Going Global'. In the course of studying this topic, students covered a wide range of geography and social studies content.

Students learned about the definition of globalization and what it means to be a global citizen. This connected well with one of our core Hamilton values.

Students learned about the many ways countries are connected through trade, commerce, and other global relations between countries.

Overall, students learned that countries are connected now more than ever before. For their main projects on display in the Exit Point, students were required to design their very own product that would be produced in Qatar.

Not only sold locally in choice Doha stores but exported across the world to different markets. Students were to decide on what their product would be made from and how it would impact the world. In addition to this, students decorated T-shirts and made posters to showcase their learning. Lastly students also demonstrated their knowledge of what it means to be a responsible consumer.

They made leaflets to show what they learned and to teach others about how to be more responsible - to go beyond just ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ by also thinking about if the companies that make the products treat people and the environment well.

It was a huge success, and we thank the parents for their huge support.

Grade 6 - French Class In French, Grade 6 students collaborated with their peers and summarised their learning on what they have learned in unit one, “All about me”.

They have used their thinking skills to write sentences using the vocabulary and grammar introduced.

They have demonstrated the following Hamilton core values: Collaborator, Communicator and Resilient through this activity.

Important Announcement Lost & Found - Parent Council The Lost and Found Committee at Hamilton International is made up of parent volunteers who help to sort and organize any items that are left at school by students.

From Sunday 8th October 2023, the Lost and Found items will be housed near the lifts opposite the finance office. Unlabeled and unclaimed items are either sold at our Parent Council Lost and Found Sale, donated, or thrown out if they are in poor condition every Winter, Spring, and Summer Break. The Parents Council will host a Lost and Found sale at the end of semester 1 and 2. The proceeds will go back to the Parents Council to fund additional events and initiatives.

International Student Day - Message from The Parent Council

The Hamilton International School will be hosting International Student's Day on November 2, 2023. We are so happy to be able to have parents on site along with the students to celebrate the amazing diversity of Hamilton International. We have 90 nationalities that make up our student body, which is incredible.

How can you get involved?

We are looking for parents who would be interested in hosting or helping out at their home Country's Stall. Our goal is to be able to have almost all 90 countries represented. You can work as a team with other parents from your home country to help organize, cook, set up, etc. It would be helpful if each country had a Country leader to help take the lead. You can also team up with another country and share a table.

You can provide food, games, activities, and/or trivia questions at your table. Come dressed in your country's cultural dress or flag colors to get into the spirit. Each table should be decorated to show off your country's identity. We want the students and parents visiting each table to leave with a bit of knowledge about each country.

We know that some of you may be traveling home during the October break or will need time to purchase items for International Student's Day and we wanted to ensure that we give all parents time to do that.

We thank you in advance for the time, energy, and resources it will take for this event to be successful.

Many hands make light work!

We do not have the schedule for the day yet but it will follow closely last year's timings. The parade will start somewhere near 9:00 AM, followed by the students/parents visiting the Country Stalls (you will have time to setup your stalls before the parade), we will have some time to take down our Stalls and tidy up before we end the day with some performances in the theatre before pickup time.

Important Announcement Lanyards To support the safety of our children at school, one of the key safeguarding measures we take at Hamilton is issuing a lanyard to all parents, visitors, contractors and staff members.

Navy Blue - Staff

Red - Parent

Black - Contactor

White - Visitor

From the 8th of October, parents and guardians will require their red lanyard to enter the school building, otherwise they will be directed by the facilities/security team to reception to present their QID and get a temporary lanyard. This takes time and will no doubt be frustrating, so please we ask you to have your lanyard at all times.

Each family gets two lanyards, an additional lanyard or a replacement will cost 50QR. if you have any questions, kindly contact Ms. Katrina at kchaplin@this.qa or Ms. Sarah at ssaleh@this.qa
