NIS Holds Orientation Event for New Families

NIS hosted an orientation for our new students and theirfamilies.

The gathering was a chance for our new families to meet our academic leadership team and teachers. It was also an opportunity for them to ask questions related to the start of the new academic year, and life at NIS.

It was great to see our students and families meeting our amazing teachers and leadership team to discuss this new academic year. Families had the chance to exploretheclassrooms,andteacherssharedtheirplans andexpectationsoflearningwithparents.

Celebrating International Dot Day: NIS Students Create

Art from a Dot

NibrasInternationalSchoolcelebratedInternationalDot Day with creativity and imagination. The celebration of Dot Day was inspired by Peter H. Reynold’s book entitled“TheDot.”

Our students showcased their artistic side by making various artworks out of colorful dots. Each grade level followed a specific theme, and it was wonderful to see theircreationscometogetherinafinaldisplay

Grade 5 Teachers Host a Fun 'Book Tasting' Event

To promote a love of reading among students and to continue with our International Literacy Day activities, ourGrade5teachersorganizeda“BookTasting”event.

Classrooms were transformed to resemble a cozy café, complete with tablecloths, placemats, candles, and flowers.

Students were invited to “taste” books from various genres, helping them discover which types of books theyenjoymost.

Elementary Students Work Together to 'Save Fred'

OurElementarystudentsrecentlyhadaSTEMActivityin whichtheyhadto“SaveFred.”

Their task was to work in groups and save Fred from drowning. This activity enhanced teamwork and collaboration in the classroom. Students also learned theimportanceofcommunication.

After the activity, the students were asked to think aboutwhattheylearntastheywrotetheirreflections.

Exploring the World of Tangrams in Secondary Math Class

In their Math class, our Grade 6 students explored the world of tangrams, discovering how seven simple geometric pieces can be rearranged into countless shapes.

It was inspiring to witness their creativity and problemsolving skills as they engaged with the beauty of mathematicsthroughthisancientChinesepuzzle.
