Our High School Student Council representatives and Grade 12 seniors organized a Pink Market featuring a variety of pink merchandise, tasty snacks,andfunactivitiesatourPinkSalonandGamesStation.
The Elementary Student Council, on the other hand, spearheaded the “Dirham a Day” campaign . They visited classrooms to raise awareness aboutcancerandcollectcoinsforourPinkOctoberinitiative.

Our Grade 5 students also took part in a special “Teachers for a Day” activity in which they stepped into the role of teachers, leading their own classroom sessions. Some of them even took on the role of LeadershipandbecameDr.JayTestonforaday.

Learning is Fun in our Kindergarten Years at NIS Creating Harmony: NIS Pottery Club Celebrates International Day of Peace
The NIS Kindergarten curriculum develops every child to be open-minded, challenging them to learn new ideas andconcepts.
One of the key lessons they are learning in class is the importance of healthy eating Through various activities, students have the chance to categorize foods as healthy or unhealthy. While promoting healthy eating habits at a young age this lesson encourages them to think critically
SEN Students Visit Tavola Studio
In October, we had the exciting opportunity to take our secondary SEN students to Tavola Studio for a professional culinary experience. This field trip was designed to give students practicalexposuretocareersintheculinaryarts,complementing their research on various future career paths including becoming a professional chef. Through hands-on activities, students applied academic skills outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), such as reading recipes, following sequential instructions, and performing mathematical calculationslikemeasuringingredients.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Marianne Tawfiles, who worked wonderfully with our students and engaged in a professional interview with them as a baking expert, making the experience both educational and enjoyable Additionally, a special thank you to Ms. Najwa Alrahma from NIS for her dedication in organizing this field trip, ensuring that our students hadameaningfulandenrichingexperience.
As our students reflect on the valuable insights they gained into potential career paths in the culinary field, we look forward to more opportunities that align academic learning with real-world careerexploration.
NIS Inclusion Department Hosts Assembly to Promote Dyslexia Awareness
In celebration of Literacy Day, our Grade 3 to 5 students participated in an assembly focused on raising awareness about dyslexia. This informative session helped students understand the challenges faced by individualswithdyslexiaandtheimportanceofinclusive learning environments. In Secondary, Literacy Day was marked by celebrating authors from various languages and cultures. Students explored the works of writers from different linguistic backgrounds, highlighting the richnessofgloballiterature.
EAL Support: “Survival English”
Since the start of this academic year, 27 students from diverse backgrounds, including Russia, Spain, Syria, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Algeria, Sweden, Afghanistan, Egypt, Portugal, and Belarus, participated in our daily Elementary Survival English Program, whichisdesignedtodevelopessentialcommunicationskillsin English.
Tailored specifically for beginner EAL students, the program provides foundational vocabulary and phrases to help students navigate everyday situations in an English-speaking environment. With participants from such varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds, the program plays a crucial role in supporting students’ successful integration into both academicandsocialaspectsofschoollife.
Running daily from 7:45 AM to 8:30 AM, the program emphasizes practical language use through listening, speaking, reading, and writing exercises allowing students to build the confidence needed to express themselves, communicate their needs, and engage meaningfully with their peers and teachers. We are proud of the progress our students are making and look forward to seeing them transition to the next level of EAL support as they continue to developtheirlanguageproficiency
Wellbeing Matters: Your Voice Counts
Our first student wellbeing survey will be launched in the coming weeks It is a good chance for students to share how they feel about school. This feedback will also help us know what we are doing right, and where we can get better at supporting the emotional and mentalhealthofourstudents.
