WearedelightedtowelcomeyouallbacktoHamiltonin2023.Wehopeyou allhadawonderful,extendedwinterbreakandthatyoumanagedtoenjoy timewithfamilyandfriends.
TheWorldCupmayhavefinished,but2023hascertainlykickedoffin spectacularfashionatourschool OurInternationalStudentDaywasour biggestandbestyet!“Successisbestwhenit’sshared”isaquotewhich comestomind Thecontributionsfromourparents,effortfromour studentsandpreparationfromourstaffallculminatedtoproducean extremelysuccessfulday,whichwilllivelonginthememoryforallofus.It wasatruecommunityevent.Readmoreaboutitlaterinournewsletter.
Thestudentshavereturnedwithsuchenergyandcommitmentwhichhas reallyhelpedthempickupwheretheyleftoffbeforethebreak.Their behavior,attitudetowardslearningandenjoymentofschoolcanbefelt acrossthecampus ThismonthwehadavisitfromtheISPDirectorof LearningfortheMiddleEastandtheGroupSeniorDirectorofLearning TheirobservationsmirroredourfeedbackfromtheMOEHE,NEASC accreditorsandourinternalself-reviews-theyleftwiththeknowledgethat Hamiltonisatrulywonderful,learningfocusedschoolwithanatmosphere andculturewhichisnoteasytofindinotherschools.
Thismonth,wehavealsoledexcitingparentworkshopsforPrimary, SecondaryandInclusion,whichincludestopicslikeArabicteachingand learningpractices,OccupationalTherapy,reportsguidance,restorative behaviortechniques,ScienceandEnglish Inadditiontoourdailyamazing learningexperiences,assessments,andEntry/ExitPointsthismonth,we haveotherexcitingeventsonthehorizon Wearehostingandattendinga rangeofsportsmatches,DohaPlayersaresettotaketotheHamiltonstage toperform‘BloodBrothers’andournewECAprogramhasbeenlaunched.
HamiltonalsohaveauniqueopportunitytopartnerwithHamadBin KhalifaUniversity(HBKU).Theyareengagedinaresearchprojectbasedon collaborativeplaybetweenchildrenontheAutismSpectrumandtheir neurotypicalpeers.TheyareconductingtheirresearchatHamilton,and youarewelcometosupportthisstudyifyouwish Theaimofthestudyisto developatangiblesensorytoolwhichencouragescollaborativeplay

OurGrade4studentskickedofftheirnew topicof"EarthasanIsland"bythinkingabout thehumanimpactontheworld.After watchingashortadverttoinspirethem,they hadtostartdesigningtheirownadvert focusedontryingtosavetheplanet.
Theykeptinmindtwothings:recyclingand reducingwhattheyuse Studentsalsobegan designingpapert-shirtsandthosedesignswill bepaintedontoactualt-shirtsfortheirExit Point.
Theyhadfundesigningboththeadvertsand thet-shirtsandwecan'twaittoseethe outcomeattheexitpoint.
