CALENDAR February 8, 2024 International Day Celebration

NIS Kicks Off Exhibition Days with KG Performance Task Presentation As an American curriculum school, NIS promotes inquiry-based learning through hands-on projects and student-led presentations. The NIS Exhibition Days are a way to nurture independent thinking amongst our students.

To kick off the NIS Exhibition Days, our KG 2 students presented the projects that they made to showcase their learning about the seasons.

Through costumes, self-made props, and weather kits, the students showcased what they had learned in class. They also got to model their communication skills and thinking skills as they answered the questions their parents, teachers, and staff had about their projects.

Our KG 1 students also proudly presented the projects they made in class. Using old tissue boxes, bond papers, paper cups, water bottles, and yarn, they created various models of transportation such as trains, cars, and airplanes to demonstrate their understanding of the concept of push and pull.

Sports Days at NIS Over the course of the month, NIS hosted three Sports Days as a way for our KG, Elementary, and Secondary students to not only engage in physical activities but also develop important life skills such as leadership, teamwork, resilience, and discipline.

The presence of parents added to the exciting atmosphere, and their cheers served as a source of encouragement for our students.

NIS Honored for Continued Support to Al Jalila Foundation Nibras International School has been recognized for the second time by the Al Jalila Foundation as a key supporter of the Pink October Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.

NIS hosted a two-day Pink October event which included a pink market, a pink salon, a photo booth station, and a games area. The High School Student Council representatives and NIS Senior Students ensured that parents could also attend the Pink Market by organizing it during the two-day Parent Teacher Conferences, while the Elementary Student Council championed ‘A Dirham for A Cause’ in support of the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.

We would like to thank our parents, students, and staff for actively participating in our Pink October Campaign. Their support to this campaign helped us raise over AED 19,000.

In recognition of their efforts and commitment to the noble cause, representatives from the school’s student council groups and NIS Senior students were invited by Al Jalila Foundation to present a cheque and witness the engraving of the school’s name on the wall for a second consecutive year.

NIS Elementary Assembly: The Value of Sportsmanship During their assembly, our Grade 5 students talked about the value of sportsmanship.

Through various skits and short group quizzes, the students watching the assembly learned more about fair play, teamwork, and respect for others.

At NIS, we prepare our students to be responsible citizens of the world. Through our school’s TORCH values, we encourage our students to be more tolerant, organized, respectful, caring, and honest.

NIS High School Assembly: Importance of Setting Goals We had our Senior Class assembly where our Grade 12 students tackled the importance of goal-setting to start the new year.

Being the Senior graduating class, this assembly served as an avenue for them to refocus and to have a clear direction of where they are headed as they count down the days until their last day in high school.

Save the Date: NIS International Day Celebration We at Nibras International School will be hosting our International Day Celebration on February 8, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Our International Day Celebration aims to showcase and celebrate the rich diversity of cultures within our school community.

Additionally, as part of our International Day Celebration, we are once again pledging our commitment to support the Sustainable Development Goal of Zero Hunger. For this year’s campaign, we aim to break last year's record in our charity drive by collecting 2 tons of rice.

The campaign will run from February 1 to 9, 2024. Students are encouraged to drop their rice donations in their homeroom.

We can’t wait to see our entire school community come together during the International Day Celebration and make a positive change through our Zero Hunger campaign.

NIS Admissions Open Events in February 2024 We are now accepting admissions for the 2024 - 2025 Academic Year!
