As a sports club, the Makati (Sports) Club advocates the promotion of physical well-being and ability, and thus provides means for its members to engage in fitness activities and wholesome relaxation.
It believes in the important role that exercise, sports, and healthy living play in personal development, in the formation and functioning of active minds and bodies, and of physically fit professionals who lead meaningful and productive lives in the service of the community and the country.
It also has a variety of dining and banquet facilities which provide the perfect venue for business and leisure.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Dear Members of the Makati Sports Club Inc.
I am delighted to present to you the Annual Report for the year 2023-2024, highlighting the remarkable achievements and significant milestones of our Club over the past year.
Facility Enhancements:
We have undertaken several significant projects aimed at enhancing the facilities and experiences we offer to our esteemed members. These include:
The resurfacing of our tennis courts, modeled after the prestigious US Tennis Open courts, demonstrating our commitment to excellence in sports facilities
The renovation of the Zobel main dining area and the bowling alley, providing our members with upgraded and modernized spaces to dine and socialize.
Financial Performance:
The creation of the Sports Hub and the installation of access ramps to the San Antonio and Club, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all members.
On the financial front, I am thrilled to report that the excess of Income over expenses before tax grew by approximately 61% compared to the previous year. This significant increase is mainly due to a rise in patronage and the outstanding performance of our Food and Beverage business.
Future Plans:
We are pleased to announce that the Club has allocated a substantial figure for a several important initiatives aimed at further enhancing our facilities and services.These include:
Rehabilitating the bowling alley pin setting machines to ensure our members can continue to enjoy his beloved recreational activity.
Constructing ramps for persons with disabilities (PWD), demonstrating our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.
Upgrading various club facilities to meet the highest standards of excellence and provide our members with top-notch amenities and experiences

Events and Tournaments:
In addition to these projects, our Club has successfully organized and hosted a variety of events and tournaments throughout the year, including the 48th Anniversary celebration, two car raffles, Octoberfest, Employees’ Sportsfest, and Christmas Party. Furthermore, we have held prestigious sports tournaments such as the Pro Am league, the President’s Singles Cup, and the Chairman’s Cup Doubles, showcasing the talent and dedication of our members.
Community Engagement:
We have also continued our commitment to social responsibility by making meaningful contributions to the community through donations to the CRIBS Foundation and the Salesian Society of St. John Bosco Healthcare Program, reflecting our dedication to making a positive impact beyond the walls of our Club.
Spiritual Enrichment:
Lastly, I am pleased to announce the resumption of Sunday masses at the San Antonio function, providing our members with spiritual nourishment and fellowship.

As we reflect on the past year, I am filled with pride and gratitude for the collective efforts of our members, staff, and partners in making these achievements possible.Together, we have continued to uphold the legacy of excellence and camaraderie that defines the Makati Sports Club Inc

The committee is pleased to report its accomplishments for the board year 20232024:
Proposed to Asia Traders Corporation a rental fee of at ₱17,000.00 with one (1) month advance payment and two (2) months deposit for the Pro Shop.
Approval of the Board for the replacement of the old monitors and the purchase of refurbished and new monitors from Puyat Sports for the bowling area amounting to ₱573,121.92.
Proposed the replacement of the air conditioning system and/or unit at the Ayala Banquet Halls.
Approval for the purchase one 6HP aircon each for the Zobel, Dasmariñas, and Bel Air and a 4HP aircon for Gallerie, which will cost around ₱940,000 in total.
Approval of the budget for the procurement of one ice maker machine amounting to ₱350,000.00 and 12 Executive Chairs for the Boardroom amounting to ₱180,000 00 in total
Drafted the rules and regulations for the usage of the Sports Hub in coordination with the Sports Committee to maintain order in the Club.
Approval for the purchase of one (1) industrial oven amounting to ₱595,000.00.

The Finance Committee presents the following achievements for the Board Year 2023-2024:
Exercised prudent management of the club’s funds including the placement of available cash in higher yielding securities.
Reviewed and updated our accounting and cost control procedure
Reviewed and approved the monthly financial reports.
Reviewed and approved the audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2023 as audited by our independent auditors, KPMG R.G Manabat & Co.
Approved and released all funding requirements for Zobel dinning renovation, resurfaced the outdoor tennis court and bowling hub improvements.
Promptly paid the municipal real property tax
Maintained a good credit standing with various suppliers of the club
Improved collection efficiency on delinquent accounts
Generated additional cash flows through auction of delinquent account and treasury share
Funded and provided a Directors and Officers Liability Insurance for its directors and officers
Reviewed the Employee’s Retirement Plan and evaluated the Actuarial Report to ensure that the club is compliant with the provisions of R.A 4917 and ensure that the retirement needs are adequately funded.
The Club achieved a surplus income over expenses after tax amounting to P19 83 million as a result for additional P7.57million net cash flows ended December 31, 2023.
The Financial Statements and the report of Independent Auditors are compiled inside a compact disc (CD) attached to this Annual Report.

The Human Resource Development Committee is pleased to report its accomplishments for the board year 2023-2024:
Ratified the disbursement/release of the half of the 13th-month pay to the employees.
Proposed to update the HR guidelines
Discussed the salary adjustment for the employees
Discussed the Regional Tripartite Wages issued Wage Order No. 24 requiring the increase of the minimum wage to ₱600.00 or ₱40.00 per day.
Approval of the compliance to Wage Order No. 24.
Discussed a letter from the union about wage distortion in light of the recent wage increase under Wage Order No. 24.
Updated the Board on the Club’s renewal of DOT MICE Accreditation (Meetings, Incentives, Convention, and Exhibition/ Events) which is valid until 30 June 2025.
Discussed with the Board a complaint made by an employee against a member, who had been treating the employees rudely, leaving nasty comments, and snarling inappropriate language.
Proposed increasing the incentive of the employees who will be given loyalty awards and approval to give ₱5,000 00 to all employees who have served for 5 years as their incentive and loyalty award.

The Socials and Planning Committees organized the following events in the club:
The Mother’s Day celebration with Hawaiian theme, was held last May 14, 2023 at the San Miguel Function room.
The Club celebrated its 48th Club Anniversary on June 12, 2023 under the theme Car Explosion and raffled off the grand prize of one (1) Honda HRV 1.8V Turbo plus five (5) cash prizes amounting to P50,000 each. Portion of the net earnings of this event went to the designated Beneficiary, the Cribs Foundation, while the rest of the earnings are used for the continuing improvement of the Club’s facilities. The Father’s Day, with a Mediterranean theme, was held on June 18, 2023.

After the critical pandemic years, The Club brought back the Holy Mass on Sundays. The Holy Mass on October 8, 2023 marked the start of the regular Mass on Sundays for the faithful Members and Guests. Priests from the Salesian Society of St. John Bosco take turns in officiating the Holy Mass on Sundays in the Club.
The Club’s annual tradition, the Beerfest event, was held on October 27, 2023, with the theme,The Sound of Entertainment. This event was capped with a night of music and dancing. The Members and Guests were entertained by the band, The Swinging Sensations.
The Halloween Event on October 31, 2023 was organized mainly for the children and relatives of the Members and guests.
Thanksgiving Cocktails for Members and corporate Sponsors of the Club was held on January 15, 2024.
The first quarterly series of professional talks, organized jointly with the Planning Committee, was held on January 29, 2024, with the topic, the 2024 Economic Outlook, conducted by our distinguished Member, Mr. Eduardo Francisco, President of BDO Capital and Investment Corporation.
Inspired by the success of the 48th Anniversary of the Club last June 12, 2023, the Club organized The Car Explosion 2 Raffle draw held on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2024 giving away one (1)Toyota Corolla Cross 1.8 V and 10 cash prizes of Php 50,000 each. The Members and guests were lively entertained by the talented singer Ms. Cookie Chua and her band. Proceeds of this event went to the Salesian Society of St. John Bosco Health Care Program and the Cribs Foundation.

o Installation of new exhaust fans inside the bowling area which improved the ventilation in the area
o Installation of the fluorescent lamp beside the covered tennis court
o Installation of a manual switch for the air-conditioning unit at the lady’s locker room to conserve energy and control its usage
