Remembering a year full of hope For the world, 2020 was a novel and peculiar experience. Despite a world kept apart, we managed to stay connected in a variety of new and innovative ways. Despite the challenges, we all made our best effort to stay positive and keep moving forward. For the College of Business, this year was full of opportunities to keep looking toward the future. In 2020, the College of Business and its students found hope in the generosity of numerous alumni and friends. In less than a year, we received 10 new endowments, two professorships and several other gifts dedicated to the success of our students that will live on in perpetuity. This great generosity has been a beacon of light for our College during a year that was so difficult in so many other ways. Here are a few of the latest scholarship endowments not yet featured in a Business Bulletin issue. DON & CYNDEE ZEBE SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT
College of Business alumnus Don Zebe and his wife Cyndee established the first endowed sales scholarship in University history. This scholarship will benefit full-time junior or senior-level students pursuing the College of Business’s Sales Certificate.
GARY AND SUSAN CAMPBELL SCHOLARSHIP & PROFESSORSHIP
Finance alumnus Gary Campbell and his wife Susan established the Dr. Bill Phillips Memorial Endowed Professorship in Finance and the Gary D. and Susan G. Campbell Scholarship Endowment to aid finance majors in their educational investment. The Campbells chose to donate so that “others may experience opportunities to learn, grow, prosper and give back to their communities.” BILLY D. VICKERS MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT
The Billy D. Vickers Memorial Endowment was established as a way to give back to the community, honor Bill’s memory in perpetuity and contribute to the Vickers legacy. The scholarship benefits marketing and Master of Business Administration students, especially those that have participated in rodeo.
