ACTIVITIES, ACTIVITIES

COMING UP IN NOVEMBER/DECEMBER: The Thanksgiving Dinner is once again being hosted by Donna & Tom Erhardt and Friends, on Thursday, November 28th. Tickets are on sale now for only $10.00 per person. This is a meaningful way to celebrate and give thanks with your friends and family in Tara Woods. The Saturday after Thanksgiving, following Coffee at 9:00 AM, is the start of the Christmas festivities in Tara Woods. That’s when we “Deck The Halls” with our Christmas trees and bring the Clubhouse to life with Christmas cheer. Come on down for the fun and refreshments provided by the Canadian Club. Tickets for the Christmas Party on Saturday, December 7th, should go on sale in the beginning of November. I’m sure there is information in this issue of The Columns and a poster on the bulletin board in the Clubhouse with the details. You don’t want to miss this special occasion hosted by the Midwest Club. Don’t head north just yet! Make your plans to leave after the Christmas Golf Cart Parade on Wednesday, December 11th. Charge up and decorate your golf cart and be part of the fun. The parade begins at 6:00 PM, but line-up and Christmas “cheer” starts at 5:00 PM in the Clubhouse parking lot. This is your opportunity to share your Christmas goodies with the parade participants. Please do not stop the parade by serving goodies as they go by. You ARE encouraged to be outside and sharing Christmas wishes with shouts of “Merry Christmas” and cheerful waves to the passing carts. Bring your favorite Christmas cookies to share and participate in Caroling at the Clubhouse following the parade around 7:00 PM. Punch and hot chocolate will be ready and awaiting your arrival. Be prepared to sing some of your favorite Christmas songs. THANK YOU! Thank you to Cindy McKay and the “Just For Kicks” Committee for hosting the Halloween Party. Cindy goes all out decorating the Haunted House and a great “Mystery Room”. The food and music was great and the costumes wonderful. It was another fun time and a great way to kick off the season in Tara Woods. As the Clubs and groups start their planning of the numerous parties and events offered to our residents, please be aware of some basic guidelines for a successful event. It is important that your party/ event committee contact some key people to cover all your bases. Make sure your event is on the Calendar by contacting Judy Lanpher. Put it on the website by contacting Bill Loveday. Put it in The Columns by the 10th of the month before the event by sending the info to Linda Beaulieu. Notify Lloyd Kelsey of Sound & Lighting for microphones, use of the big screen or other sound and lighting needs. For Kitchen supplies, contact Janet Daly, at least a week before the event. As Activities Coordinator, I am available to meet with your committee early in the process to offer guidance in your preparations. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions regarding the parties and events. If I can’t answer your question, I most likely know who can. Happy Thanksgiving!
