MANAGER’S CORNER

Hello Tara Woods,

As we head into Fall, my team, the TWHA, and myself are working hard to get Tara Woods in great shape. Some projects/requests have been completed, but many more are coming. Working together, our community can be the real “Crown Jewel” of Hometown America.

I do my best to meet with residents at their convenience; however, there will be times that I will have deadlines and prior commitments and will not be available. I want to make sure I give each resident the time they deserve. Making an appointment will give us both the opportunity to meet and have uninterrupted time together.

I am looking forward to the Fall/Winter season! Kind Regards.

FROM THE BOARD ROOM BY LOU

Your Board continued to work for you throughout the summer. This summer has been especially busy and has produced many positive things for our residents: • The Board voted at our September 9th meeting to select Chris Olson as our Recording Secretary. Chris adds another dynamic link to our strong, volunteer-oriented Board. Welcome Chris! • Your Board voted to contribute $50.00 towards the “Quarter Auction” for two baskets of cheer. The Quarter Auction is a kick-off for our traditional “Day of Caring”. • Director Keith Schuelke debuted a new line of apparel: “men’s and women’s shirts and ball caps” for residents. Available at Saturday Morning Coffee and before Bingo on Tuesday night. • The Board approved new guidelines (developed by a Director’s sub-committee) for residents wishing to address the Board at Homeowners’ meetings. • The Board changed the format of the Community Improvement Agenda to include a carry-over section. In addition, the monthly agenda is now prepared and emailed to the Community Manager prior to the meeting in order to facilitate better prepared discussions. • The Board approved moving forward with Lifetouch. Lifetouch will be taking photos of all participating Tara Woods Residents. The participating residents will receive a free 8x10 portrait and a free updatable community directory featuring residents’ photos and contact information. Participants will also have the opportunity to purchase additional photos. Thank you to Sheila Harris and her team for heading up this program. • The Board voted to accept the recommendation of the By-laws Committee rewording of one section. The membership will vote on this recommendation at the Membership meeting in January or by proxy. • The Board agreed to work jointly with Hometown America to recognize and honor our veterans at a special pancake breakfast, where veterans eat free, on Saturday, November 9 th . • The Board voted to contribute $100.00 to The Columns Luncheon held to recognize the many residents who work to ensure we receive The Columns newspaper. The luncheon will be held Sunday, November 10th. • The Board is moving forward to present our residents an outstanding “Health Fair” on Tuesday, January 14th, 2020 in the Clubhouse from 9:00 AM to noon. Thank you to Dave Lindon, Hilda Dienes and Barbara Werner-Lubich for their hard work for our bene t. • The Board purchased a new program with the goal of improving the process, accuracy and look of The Columns Calendar.
