[Sinossi] Un documentario poetico che attraversa l’Arcipelago di Marajò, nel cuore della foresta pluviale amazzonica. Il viaggio si estende su oltre 800 miglia di acque, terre e aria e porta lo spettatore dall’isola dove vivono le tenere piccole tartarughe ai campi della Mexiana sorvolati dai pirarucus. Il film ha lo scopo di promuovere la salvaguardia e la protezione di questa parte del mondo in pericolo e segna l’avvio in Brasile della Campagna per Marajò come Patrimonio Naturale dell’Unesco.

[Synopsis] A documentary with a poetic sensibility towards the nature and population of the Arcipelago of Marajò, that is part of the Amazon Rain Forest. The expedition covered over 800 miles by water, land and air visiting from the island where the small turtles live until the fields of the Mexiana where the pirarucus spawn. The film is designed to promote the protection of a world in danger, it marks the launch in Brazil of the Campaign for Marajò as Unesco’s Reserve of the Biosphere by the Brazilian Ministry of Environment.
