Reeling In A Big One!

Kanturk man Michael Twohig proudly wore the Irish Green Jacket on the podium where brought home the Silver Medal at the World Masters Fly Fishing Championships in Italy. Michael came in second place just behind the USA’s Bret Bishop. This was a step higher up the podium, for Michael who previously won Bronze at the 2019

Championships in South Africa. Michael is a well known business man and is owner of Twohigs Supervalu in Kanturk, Askeaton and Abbeyfeale. Many of the Kanturk businesses and local community groups took to Social Media to congratulate Michael on his outstanding achievement.

Rathmore Ladies Football All Ireland Semi Final

Congratulations to Danielle O’Leary, Louise Coughlan, Kerry senior ladies team and management on winning the All Ireland semi final over Mayo! Best of luck to them in the final at Croke Park against Meath. Well done to Iveragh Holohan who participated in the Munster Blitz with Kerry u14s Camogie team.

Women’s open Irish 60x30 national result saw Cork’s Aishling O’Keeffe in top form as she progressed to the 2022 final. Unfortunately she was defeated 15-10 15-3 by Martina McMahon from Limerick. 6

Congratulations to Orla Cronin and her Kerry u16s camogie team mates. Kerry won on a 2-11 to 3-2 against Wicklow. Well done to the girls & management. The girls are through to the semi-final of u16 AllIreland championship against Roscommon on 31st July.
