It is very important to thoroughly research your potential new employer, whether you are looking to apply for a job or you have already secured an interview. Researching the company will allow you to tailor your application and showcase your genuine interest in the role. Interviewers will notice that you have made the effort to find out about the company’s background, products and services, size, location, ethos etc. Start with a simple Google search A good first step is by simply carrying out a Google search leading you to different webpages that serve as valuable resources. You can also have a look at Google images- perhaps past events, conferences etc.
Check out the company’s website Very often, the company’s website itself holds a wealth of knowledge for you to tap into in relation to the history and background of the company, the team as well as products and services on offer. Perhaps you can even sign up for the company’s newsletter. Have a look at the company’s social media channels Why not have a look for the company on social media? You might find that your potential future employer has Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter account. Postings across social media may hold valuable information about the company’s offerings and operations. Another potential resource is the company’s LinkedIn presence. Simply enter the company’s name in the search bar to see the company’s
profile as well as current and past employees. Networking We understand that not every company has an online presence. In this case, you might find it useful to speak to people who are past or current employees of your desired employer to find out any additional information that may be useful for your recruitment journey.
