Huge Attendance At National Conference In IRD Duhallow

On Thursday October 19th the national Conference of The Community resource network was O’Keeffe Institute in Newmarket. There was a huge attendance from both members and stakeholders with up to 50 organisations represented from all over the island of Ireland. The name on the National conference was Connected Circular Communities, and
delegates to the conference enjoyed refreshments on arrival followed by a morning panel discussions on various topics followed by lunch supplied by Duhallow Community Food Services. They then took a tour of the facilities on the James O Keeffe Complex, where the Social enterprises ran by IRD Duhallow were on show and demonstrations were also given to showcase the work that the enterprises do in the local communities and the circular economy.
In the afternoon the delegates took part in workshops in the James O Keeffe institute.Emma Kavanagh who is the head of the community resource Network said “ thank you again to the IRD Duhallow team for hosting and supporting our member conference become a reality. It was really significant for us to host our event in a community setting like this and I know we all left feeling inspired by the vibrancy and scale of the work taking place in IRD Duhallow in Newmarket.
