Dear AIESECers from all over the world, You never know when the biggest adventure of your life is your biggest adventure. Not until it’s happening. You don’t recognize the biggest adventure of your life, not until you‘re right in the middle of it. That’s exactly how the Congress Committee of IC Sri Lanka feels today. After 8 months of hard work, we have a huge privilege to open registration for the 71st edition of AIESEC International Congress 2019 in Sri Lanka. The day we committed to host IC was the day we put our hopes and dreams on. It was the day we realized that we will impact Sri Lanka together with 550+ dynamic youth from 120+ countries. Today, all of you have a chance to join us to live our values, feel our culture, and celebrate Sri Lankan heritage for what it is! Today, our adventure begins! AIESEC International Congress is the real soul of AIESEC, it's a unique platform to the global network of AIESEC leaders to gather in order to drive initiatives, implement strategies and develop the leadership that we need in order to achieve Peace and Fulfillment of Humankind's Potential. It is a place where inspiration, innovation, and unity happen and leave a mark on youth from all over the world and the local community in the hosting country. It is a huge privilege to tell you all – “Ayubowan” which is the Sri Lankan greeting wishing a long life. Sri Lanka is an island in South Asia, located in the Indian Ocean, and that's why some people call it “The Pearl of Indian Ocean" or "Teardrop of India". AIESEC International Congress is the annual international conclave of AIESEC, where 550+ young leaders, entrepreneurs, and corporate giants from 120+ countries and territories meet and celebrate the development of youth leadership, cultural diversity, and global togetherness. The purpose of this conference is to provide a unique platform to the global network of AIESEC leaders to gather in one place and drive initiatives, implement strategies, and develop the leadership that we need in order to achieve Peace and Fulfillment of Humankind's Potential. Registration for AIESEC International Congress 2019 is now officially open! Did you know that it takes less than 15 minutes to register for IC Sri Lanka? Registration will happen through a Type Form which is an online and dynamic form. You will have to provide: personal information, your AIESEC experience, work experience, passport & Visa information, health & dietary information etc. Next, you will be asked to download IC 2019 legal such as: Indemnity Form, Anti Sexual Harassment Anti-Substance Abuse Policy Form. Please sign and documents. Afterward, please insert documents to the form, together with passport copy.

Delegates who cannot attend IC due to the rejection of VISA or non-reply on their application will not be charged a cancellation fee. This only applies to delegates who will apply for VISA by the 8th of June 2019 and will follow the guidelines of the CC Team. Delegates who by the 23rd of June 2019 don't obtain their VISA but choose to not cancel their participation in IC are fully liable for the full conference fee. What should I do if I would like to cancel my attendance in IC 2019? If you wish to cancel your attendance to the conference please send an official email to ce@iclk.aiesec.org with ‘’Cancellation_NameSurname_EntityName’’ as a subject. CC will confirm each cancellation by an email, and transfer available refund to delegate after the conference. All the transfer costs will have to be paid by the delegate. The available refund equals fees paid minus the cancellation fee, calculated in your payment currency.

How to get Sri Lankan Visa? ETA is an official authorization for a Short Visit to Sri Lanka and is issued electronically (here) http://www.eta.gov.lk/. The ETA is introduced with the intention of providing an efficient, reliable and simplified service to those who visit Sri Lanka. ETA holders will be issued a 30 day Short Visit visa at the port of entry in Sri Lanka. The ETA is issued through an on-line system. No passport copies, documents or photographs are required. There is no requirement to endorse the ETA on the passport. CC Team will provide Visa Guidelines for Approved Delegates.

Visa country requirements Maldives, Singapore, Seychelles – you are welcome to Sri Lanka without ETA – You will get a Visa on arrival. Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast are countries that cannot apply for ETA through on-line system. CC Team will provide special assistance from the Head Office of the Department of Immigration & Emigration in Colombo on your behalf to ensure a smooth Visa process. Pakistan, Egypt, Korea and Afghanistan need special assistance from CC Team. Our team will provide support from the Head Office of the Department of Immigration & Emigration in Colombo, so Visa process can go smooth. Nationals of other countries can issue ETA through an online system.

Who can apply for IC 2019? AIESEC International Congress 2019 delegates profiles are: MCPs, MCVPs, LCPs, priority delegates (including GSTs, CEEDers etc.), CC from subsequent ILMs are welcome as well. First round will be open for MCPs, MCVPs Operations (exchange or CX), MCVPs TM/OD. From second round application will be open for MCPs, MCVPs, priority deleagates, as well as for LCPs! If you are interested, please apply here (http://internationalcongress.aiesec.org/registration) and note that there are limited spots so fill in the application as soon as possible. We are looking forward to welcoming you in Sri Lanka!

How do I get accepted? First of all, CC Team will review your application form and check if all information and documents are available. Next, we will review your application with your MC office, and then with AIESEC International office. After a few days you will receive an e-mail with results of your registration for IC Sri Lanka. If you will get an acceptance e-mail you will get "Approved Delegate Status.

What if I am not accepted? If you are not accepted in one of the first rounds, please note that there are more rounds of registration coming, so please try to register again in next one (1st round opens on 6th of April, 2nd round opens on 24th of April, 3rd round opens on 11th of May). Another chance to attend IC is to apply for volunteers position – for more information follow our CC Team page. If you want to watch us from all around the world, you can join IC as a virtual delegate – stay tuned for more information.

How can I scan my documents? A proper scan has clear text and graphics; an improper scan is blurry, difficult to read and has cut edges. How to scan? First of all, you can use a regular scanner, but if you want to save time you can go with Mobile Passport Scanning, for that we recommend downloading the CamScanner app. It is a Mobile Scanner which generates PDF document from a picture of the document you take. Can I pick which hotel I want to stay in? With whom will I share the room? Both hotels are set on palm-lined beachfront gardens overlooking the Laccadive Sea. Both resorts have breathtaking sea views, luxury accommodation, and hospitable hotel staff. A rooming list will be created by CC Team according to delegates preference (mix gender room/same gender room) provided in registartion form and it will be communicated to Official Delegates later on.
